Love this book! Micah does an amazing job of unpacking the stories of key figures in biblical history and how God used them to blaze trails for His kingdom. His vulnerability when telling his own story has you connect as a reader on a deeper level. Highly recommend this uplifting and motivating book to anyone discerning God's calling on their life and how to blaze a trail for His kingdom.
Reading this book is like walking with a guide who is showing you a unique path that God has just for you. Each chapter uncovers the next step along the way and even helps you identify the barriers that need to be removed. Micah has a calming but powerful voice that gives you the confidence to keep going, to dream big, and to become a trailblazer.
“Now, step into it. Full of faith, hope, and love.” - Micah E Davis
With the warm tone of both a trusted friend and seasoned mentor, Micah explores practical ways to blaze the particular trail the Lord has placed on your heart. Trailblazers’s approach is simple/conversational in style and accessible to readers newer to the faith, yet its simplicity doesn’t make its message less challenging for readers at any point in their faith journey. It’s a an encouraging and thought-provoking read that’s best savored slowly.
This book is well written and thought provoking. What trail does God want me to blaze? I don't know that this book helps a person better discern what God actually wants him or her to do. By studying the lives of biblical trailblazers, I think the book does help one to know what it takes to live a life of Christian character. I wish the Scripture references were provided with the passages, rather than footnoted. I was distracted by the large quantity of footnotes.
Micah is a thoughtful, diligent, well researched, and gifted writer - I’m so happy to have gotten his first book! It’s been helpful for me and I believe it will be for many. Don’t settle for a life without purpose and vision, read this book and let it guide you into the costly, countercultural way that Jesus wants to invite you into!
This book was so enlightening to what it means to live a purpose filled life! With personal stories and direct references to scripture, it makes this read easily relatable and knowledgeable!! I found myself relating to many of the stories and examples the author touched on. Everyone should read this!!
I have personally seen Micah's love for God and love for people. His ability to pour into others has always surprised me. I believe that the wisdom in 'Trailblazers' truly pour into your walk with Jesus.
This books challenges your lifestyle, motivates you to do more, & think deep thoughts after each chapter. The author does a great job of writing his raw emotions that are swirled with grace and sprinkled with humor. A fun, captivating read!
Thankful for Micah’s wisdom, guidance, and encouragement through this book. The way he makes the Scriptures come to life and applies them to our everyday walk with Jesus is incredible.
This book has provided me needed wisdom and direction in a time of need. These words will stir up a desire in you to go blaze new trails for Jesus, and become what He destined you to be!
This book follows Biblical characters and focuses on their qualities that made them like Jesus and gives some practical ways on how we can choose to be brave and live like Jesus. This book definitely is not a book that can be read quickly, but requires a little bit of time to percolate in your mind. Recommend this book for those wanting to become a Trailblazer.
"Root out the impulse to hurry! You won't find God in the rush of the wind, the distraction of the earthquake, or the busyness of the fire. He invites you to come to him, to get away with him, to walk - slowly- and to watch how he lives life."
I received an eARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
The best thing about this book is that it is written out of the overflow. An overflow of character, an overflow of generosity, an overflow of love for the local church and leaders. There is something for everybody in this book and I can't recommend it enough. You will love this read if you are on a journey to find more of what God has for you and your life with him.
