Finding You #2

You're So Bad

Rate this book
Never fall for the man who's supposed to help you get revenge...

Shauna

It's not every day you get asked to be a bridesmaid for the wedding of your ex and your ex-best friend. Call me lucky? My grandmother thinks I'm crazy for agreeing, but I can't let those so-and-sos know they've pummeled my self-worth...even if it's true.

Then my grandmother goes off the deep end and tells everyone that I have a boyfriend. A pediatric surgeon boyfriend. Worse, she's shown them his photograph.

The guy in question? He's a hot piece of bad news. He may have befriended my grandmother, but he's far from being in my good graces. So it surprises me when he makes an intriguing proposition.

Why play nice when you can get even?

Leonard

Shauna thinks she's going to pay me to play Chaos Coordinator. No need. Causing trouble is basically my calling in life. And if I can do that and spend time with a hot purple-haired ball buster?

Sign me up.

Nothing good can come of any of this. Then again, I realized a long time ago that I'm no good for anyone, myself included. So we might as well have some fun.

This is the second book in the Finding You series, but it definitely can be read as a standalone. This premise hits a little close to home, but it was still enjoyable as I laughed out loud at the antics that were happening. Add in a secret cinnamon roll MMC (ex alleged criminal) covered in tattoos that holds a tiny kitten and is smitten with it? Yeahhhh I’m in. I can’t wait to read others in this series!

Shauna knows the guy who has made friends with her grandmother is nothing but trouble, but when rumors spread that he is a pediatric doctor who is Shauna’a new boyfriend, that’s when the trouble really begins. Her ex best friend is getting married to the ex boyfriend on Shauna’s birthday, and is now wanting her to bring Leonard with her as a date. Leonard agrees, and the revenge ideas and pranks to kill on the happy couple are the only thing that is attractive about this deal.

This being book two in this series, it is to your advantage to know the backstories of these characters before jumping into this one.
(Just sayin'...)

It is easy to connect with Shauna, her situation, and her desire for more. Thank goodness for Constance in her life! I love how she and Leonard's friendship benefits Shauna.

This is a page turner, for sure. The chemistry between these two is addictive.
Both of their pasts are horrible, with abuse and neglect, each carrying their damage differently.
But, these two characters have a lot supportive people who want the best for them, and I enjoyed their relationships with their friends.

While they work out how to get together, Shauna is wrapped up in her ex-friend's (and ex-boyfriend) bridal shower events, and wedding!! Ridiculous, if you ask me, so I was pretty incensed at "Bee and Colt" throughout this read!! I loooved how Leonard was there supporting Shauna, and guiding the shenanigans!

This pulled a bunch of emotions from me, as they journeyed to their HEA. It was a very rewarding conclusion, and I am looking forward to more time with these characters!!

I thank the author for my free ARC of this book. I absolutely recommend reading this series, this book, and any of the other selections in the catalog of her works. They are all entertaining and easy to enjoy. I look forward to reading the next one in this series.

I received and ARC of this book in return for my honest opinion.

Ok shauna and Leonard

Shauna was asked to be a bridesmaid in her ex boyfriends and ex best friends wedding! Not only a bridesmaid but he maid of honor. And she agrees!!!! This is my first problem, if this was to ever happen not in a book i HIGHLY HIGHLY doubt that anyone would do this!!!!!!!

Secondly this is not like shauna and colter (her ex boyfriend) ended on a good note… no he left Shauna for the ex best friend but come to find out they were cheating on her with her manipulative best friend. Who apparently has always been jealous of her… so she steals her boyfriend and then asks her to be in the wedding while being a huge bitch to her the whole time!

And to make matters even worse the best friend chose shaunas birthday to get married on!!!! Chose all her favorite things like who does that!!!!! And then at the end of the book she is trying to apologize for being such a bitch!!!! Like WHAT look at everything you did..

Sorry but that is where this book review will end for me it was just a no—- no matter if you are the bigger person and want to pretend and go to their wedding it’s all just wrong

Just not for me. Had high hopes after TikTok pushed it to me multiple times, but story moved s l o w l y. At 33%, I just started jumping ahead. Usually a dog, kitten, kooky grandma and odd assortment of friends would do it for me, but I could not connect with either main character. Lots of books switch 1st person narration by chapter, but this time I got confused about who was talking, what was happening, so finally jumped to epilogue.

The story started good, but the writing kinda felt distant, like the emotions were lacking. Shauna & Leo's relationship was developing more as a physical than an emotional one. I didn't really felt feelings and emotions, but I could feel how well they clicked, especially the humor. The story was nice, I kind of expected a different type of a trouble.

I loved how Shauna's nana was plotting, would love to have a grandma like her. The "ABC" couple clearly deserve each other, I mean trash belongs with trash. I however didn't like how Shauna was handling the situation. I kinda expected her to be more "balistic", Leo was the one saving her most of the times, yes, she said everything to Queen Bee, when she came over, but it still felt like she was too soft. I'd kick this kind of a narcissist to the curbs bruh.

I always enjoy reading Angela Casella’s books. You’re So Bad is the second RomCom in The Finding You series. I enjoy the humor and seeing characters from her other books but I really love the character development that takes place throughout the story.
Angela is able to bring her characters to life. They have pasts, emotional pain and find the support necessary to change and come to terms with their their problems. These are never quick fix solutions but an evolution of growth. And some characters do not change.
As a reader I become invested in the characters which makes take the story believable and realistic.

There was supposed to be some type of revenge plot, and there wasn't. Very little was actually done to get back at Colter and Bianca. Shauna just rolled over. Yes, she got her happy ending with Leonard, which I'm happy about, but goodness! Could she have been any less passive?!!? I'm sorry if my then bf cheated on me with my best friend and then got engaged to her, I wouldn't have anything to do them. And she just was like yeah ill be your maid of honor 🙄 so another book that I'm not a fan of. Did like constance and seeing how Delia and Lucas were doing. Don't know if I'll even read the rest of the couples though.

This was the second book in a series but admittedly my first book by the author. Although I could tell that I was missing SOME things, I didn't feel like I missed out on anything from the storyline since I didn't read the first book in the series. They are considered interconnected standalones!

Shauna felt really relatable. I love me a good fake dating rom-com. & throw in a misunderstood bad boy? YES PLEASE.
& thennnnn when you see his true cinnamon roll side-- SWOON. The whole cast of characters were fantastic. Love me a meddling grandma 🤣

I literally devoured this book and honestly cannot wait to read more from this author!

I appreciated the story line and characters, but this book felt entirely too long. So much happened, but it somehow felt like the plot didn't move. I listened to the audio book and so many times it felt like it just dragged for no reason. The characters were good and felt real, but the book just felt unreasonably long to tell this story. I feel like this book could have used a few more rounds of edits.

You're So Bad by Angela R. Casella, is the second book in the Finding You Series, this time we meet Shauna, who is in the recovery stage of a broken heart, more due to the loss of whom she consider a friend than the guy who was her boyfriend, yes, the guy left her for her best friend and now after eight months they are getting married, Shauna was invited and although she doesn't feel like being in any of the wedding, she doesn't plan to lie down for back since she knows that's what her ex-friend, Bianca, expects her to do, only now the situation is complicated when her grandmother, for helping her, spreads the rumor that Shauna is dating a pediatric surgeon. The guy is none other than Leonard Smith, whose profession is nowhere near what his grandmother said it was, he works as a builder and is a friend of his grandmother, thanks to the work they did as extras in Sinclair's movie, and although he is very handsome and has tattoos, he is also a full-fledged bad guy. Leonard has a taste for creating problems and although he's trying to change, he can't completely remove that little thorn that drives him to do things he shouldn't, and since he met Shauna he can't help but feel attracted to the little girl with purple hair, so he, using the entanglement caused by Constance, use this excuse to be close to the sexy Shauna. When he arrives at Shauna's door and tells her that he is willing to pretend to be her date, she doubts it at first, but ends up agreeing, this will lead to them spending time together, creating a bit of chaos and definitely crossing lines that will put them in the route to deeper feelings, only there are things from Leonard's past that can damage whatever they want in their future together.
A story full of laughs and sweet moments, with characters that you will connect with and enjoy their journey together, as well as the secondary characters and the return of others from the first book, you will enjoy this story from beginning to end. Highly recommended!

Altamente Recomendada!

This is the 2nd book in Angela Casella’s Finding You series. First a little history for those of you who are new to this author. Angela Casella and Denise Grover Swank sometimes co-write series like Ashville Brewing, The Bad Luck Club and other times as with this series they publish independently. That said this book is still a spinoff of some of the series they’ve co-authored. Ashville Brewing begat, The Bad Luck Club which begat the Highland Hills series which begat the Fairy Godmother Detective Agency which begat this The Finding You Series. The two things they all have in common are the stories all take place in or near Ashville N.C. and characters from one series often serve as a link to this series. For instance this books female protagonist Shauna was introduced in the first Fairy Godmother Detective series as that book’s male protagonist Rafe’s friend and co-worker. Rafe’s now fiancée Sinclair who is often mentioned in this book was the female protagonist in that book. The many of the male characters in that series including Leonard, this stories male protagonist were introduced in later books in the Fairy Godmother Detective Agency series. Okay, now on to my review of You’re So Bad which refers to the trying to reform himself Leonard the sometimes conman small time criminal.
Shauna is a 31-year-old struggling clay artist who lives with her grandmother who along with her grandfather raised her after her parents were killed in a car crash when she was thirteen years old. Shauna’s parents pretty much ignored her leaving her with some serious abandonment issues. Shauna’s eighty something year old grandfather recently split with her grandmother after having an affair with his water aerobics instructor. Shauna had been dating Colter for the previous two years until nine months ago when he and her former best friend Bianca announced they were in love. So now she feels deeply betrayed by both of them and Colter’s mom whom she’d become close to. In some convoluted contemporary romance way Bianca has asked Shauna to be her maid of honor, set her wedding day for Shauna’s birthday and come up with all sorts of wedding related events seemed intended to torment Shauna and Shauna agrees to go along with this to not give Bianca the satisfaction of knowing she’s gotten to her. Yeah, in what world would that make any sense?
Leonard has recently returned to Ashville and reconnected with his four buddies who are the male protagonists in this series. But Leonard has serious emotional baggage after being raised by a criminal and abusive father and a mother who never tried to intervene between her husband and son. Leonard left home at sixteen and supported himself through petty criminal activities until he returned to Ashville and his BFF Lucas Burke helped set him up in a business flipping homes. But Leonard as serious self-esteem issues convinced he is bound to do the wrong thing and ruin the lives of everyone he touches.. In the first book in this series Leonard becomes friends with Shauna’s grandmother while working as extras on a movie set Sinclair is making. Shauna’s grandmother lies and tells people that the handsome Leonard is a doctor and dating Shauna. Leonard is attracted to Shauna so he convinces her to allow him to accompany her to all of Colter and Bianca’s wedding activities as her fake boyfriend. So again, yeah, this story’s plot is really out there. But its often funny, touching and sexy as Shauna and Leonard get to know each other and eventually fall in love while plotting ways to get revenge against Colter and Bianca.

We first met Shauna in Rafe and Sinclair’s book, A Brooding Bodyguard. She’s Rafe’s BFF and lots of fun, but she’s no pushover. There’s a tough cookie aura about her, which tells me she’s had a rough life but the more I learned about Shauna, the more I loved her. Leonard is a stereotypical tatted bad boy type and he’s pretty to look at but he’s got bad news written all over him. Shauna’s determined not to act on her attraction to the annoying but delicious conman.

These two aren’t even friends but when Shauna’s crazy grandma tries to help her save face, Leonard is her only hope. That’s because Constance made up a story about Shauna’s pediatric surgeon boyfriend, using Leonard’s picture. It wouldn’t be such a big deal except that she needs a date to her ex’s wedding. Her cheating ex who hooked up with her former bestie – while they were still dating – and the two fell in love while sneaking around behind Shauna’s back. She doesn’t want to go to the wedding and she sure as heck doesn’t want to be Bianca’s MOH, but what’s the alternative? Refusing would make it look as though she still cares about Colter and she certainly doesn’t. Bianca can have the boring jerk, as far as Shauna is concerned. Her former friend is the one who truly broke her heart, not the cheating ex. She expected more from her friend, not so much from her man.

Leonard volunteers for the role a bit too eagerly, considering their casually snarky relationship which barely exists; however he’s had a thing for Shauna since the moment they met so this is an opportunity for him. For what, he’s not sure since Shaune deserves so much better, but he’s drawn to her and not strong enough to stay away, even when he knows he should. Their story gets heavy in places due to the abusive, neglectful childhoods they both endured but is also riddled with humor and full of great banter. I really enjoyed these characters in every way. They’re so real and at times raw, but hilarious and super steamy at others. The usual supporting cast is amazing as always, plus there are some new faces joining the gang. This is a fun read and I loved every minute of it.

Shauna's grandma's been telling stories, and now Shauna has to show up at her ex and ex best friend's wedding with her very not real surgeon boyfriend. Too bad Leonard is anything but a doctor, is trouble in muscled inked form!

Leonard hasn't had as much fun getting to someone as he does riling up Shauna. But as posing as her fake boyfriend shows him, there's much more to Shauna (and himself) than just some fun. Feelings, strong ones, are developing, and they have to figure out what to do about them. But can this broken man ever be good enough for the woman he's fallen for?

Poor Leonard, I just wanted to give him the biggest hug and tell him he wasn't broken or really trouble. Thank God he had Shauna and his brothers, because they finally got it through his head. You're So Bad is sweet, witty fun and has me anxiously waiting for the next one to fall in love.

Book: You’re So Bad (Finding You #2)
Author: Angela R. Casella
Rating: 3⭐️
Spice: 2🌶

This is book #2 in the Finding You series by Angela Casella, but it can be read as a standalone. I haven’t read the first book, You’re So Extra, yet. But I would like to go back and read it so I can enjoy Burke’s story, before I read the third book coming out in November called, You’re So Basic.

I won’t lie this book took me soooo much longer to finish than other books I have read. I started this book on Sept 3rd and finished it on the 13th. I’ve never taken that long to read a book. But I will say I have been busy.

There is representation of abûse & neglect from parents in this book, that the two main characters carry that burden differently. But they help each other and have a very supportive, loving found family of friends. This book is very wholesome feeling reading about all the support they get from their friends and family, no matter what they throw at them.

Although, the book does have deep representation of some dark things that happened to them in their past, you will be cackling at most points in this book. One of my favorite lines in this book has to be:

“He’s as hot as a flaming Cheeto soaked in sriracha and lit on fire.” 🤣🤣🤣

I do recommend reading the books in order in the series, I do wish that I would’ve been able to, before, I read the second book in the series first. But it is what it is, and I really liked this book.

Who doesn’t love a cinnamon roll MMC that’s an ex- alleged- criminal, that’s covered in tattoos, and has an affinity towards a black kitten? If you like any of the things I just said about our MMC then you’ll like this book.

But if we’re talking about the FMC, then you’re looking at a feisty woman that doesn’t take anyone’s sh!t, who also happens to have to prove her point about not backing down. So much so, that she would say yes to being the maid of honor to her ex-best friend and ex-boyfriends wedding! If you like the sound of what I just told you about the FMC then you will love this book!

This was a seriously cute story that started out as sort of a reverse grumpy/sunshine, and morphed into a bit of a redemption arc -- for the sunshine half of the couple. Shauna is a clay artist whose long-term boyfriend is marrying the woman she thought was her best friend. She's pretty grumpy when the book starts, and it's pretty understandable. Her ex-best friend and ex-boyfriend have pretty much teamed up to make their wedding all about Shauna (featuring venues she loved, and activities she enjoyed), only with the twist of making them terrible because the bride is truly just that awful. Enter hottie Leonard, who on the surface is a bit of a golden-retriever with a bad boy streak, who likes to cause trouble, and has a total crush on Shauna. Shauna's grandmother has announced to social media that Shauna is dating Leonard, and that Leonard is a pediatric surgeon. So since Shauna is engaged in a battle of wills with her former BFF, trying to figure out which one will flinch first, the two team up to cause havoc at the wedding events. Normally, I'd say it's a bit out of line to purposely ruin a couple's big day, but when they make that big day about making another person miserable, I can respect the play.

I enjoyed the Leonard/Shauna hijinks in this one, and eventually seeing the book dig beyond Leonard's golden-retriever exterior to see someone who is hurting due to his own actions. There was an additional storyline involving a runaway teenager that I felt was missing some information (if the kid was only two weeks away from 18 when he ran, why did the foster father care so much about tracking him down?) but did add to Leonard's character development. I also enjoyed seeing Shauna's trauma-bonding with him over their shared awful childhoods (his was obviously much worse, but it was nice to see her "get it") and him bringing out the fun side of her that the defections of the people closest to her had hidden (her BFF definitely hurt her more than the boyfriend ever did and honestly, I can totally relate to that).

I would totally check this author out again.

Bianca has stolen Shauna’s fiancée, Colter, and wants to rub salt in the wound by picking Shauna’s favorite places, favorite colors, and favorite songs for the wedding festivities- even choosing to have the wedding on Shauna’s birthday. The thread holding this story together is that Shauna won’t give Bianca the satisfaction of a reaction, even though she doesn’t miss her ex, so she plays along It seems pretty dumb to allow shitty people to have access to you, to spend money on events with them, give them gifts celebrating their twu wuv. Cut them out of your life and move on before they spoil something else. And also - Bianca was some kind of dumb to choose a wedding anniversary date that her husband would always associate with his ex-girlfriend.

As a rom com it was pretty good! Lots of chemistry, character growth of the MMC as a bad boy with a heart of gold, some child abuse mentioned as back stories, and fun spice. (There is a really funny scene where Shauna is giving Leonard a blowie in the car and they almost get caught by the groom’s sweet mom.)

There were two separate plot lines dealing with forgiving a cheater, though, and I just can’t. If you’re unhappy, break it off clean and start over after you’ve healed. The idea that cheating is okay if it’s ✨true love✨ is gross enough, but Grandpa Fruckface (sic) left his wife for an aerobics instructor younger than his daughter. I don’t think cheaters are entitled to forgiveness (especially when they haven’t shown remorse or made amends), that the rational response to betrayal is anger, that the sort of person who could betray their spouse or long term partner is someone I can’t trust, that someone who would throw away a reasonably good marriage for casual sex with strangers isn’t empathetic or very deep.

I was eagerly looking forward to this book, it was very well fore shadowed in the previous part of the series.

Shauna is a known character in the Asheville series even if we previously only knew her as a friend of Rafe, an earlier main character. I always liked her and enjoyed reading her story.

Leonard is a known character too, one of the group of friends around earlier main characters in the series.
He just recently returned to Asheville and there was some kind of mystery concerning him and his past.

He thinks that he’s a no good person undeserving of the love of a good woman. She sees him for what he really is and tries to prove to him that he’s worthy.

There are a lot of hilarious as well as heartfelt situations and the story has more depths than just the romance trope.

As usual there are good character descriptions and developements, both in the main characters and in side charachters.
We meet old aquaintances (a certain psycic as well as a beloved grandmother) as well as new and it always feels like coming home to meet old friends and enjoy their banter reading these books.

If I have a problem with anything it’s that I’m starting to see a bit too many similarities between the characters and their interactions throughout the books.
The female protagonists, as well as their male counterparts, start out different but they somehow ends up to develop very similarly. The sexual interactions always start out in the same way (won’t spoil it by telling you how) and the relationships have a tendency to follow a pattern.
That said, they are all entertaining reads and that goes for this book too. I recommend it and I look forward to the next part of this series!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

When Shauna is asked to be the maid of honor at the wedding of not only her ex, but her ex-best friend as well, she agrees . . . because she doesn’t like to be one-upped. When her grandmother happens to spread the rumor that she’s now dating a pediatric surgeon, photo included, Shauna is left with few options. either tell her exes that it’s all a lie or see if Leonard will play along.

Friends with the spunky older woman he met as an extra on the set of a movie, Leonard found he had the hots for her granddaughter Shauna from the first look. But, he values his friendship way too much to ever make a move. But, when he finds out Constance has made him out to not only be a fake pediatric surgeon, but Shauna’s boyfriend, he jumps at the chance to spend time with her while messing with the soon to be married couple.

What follows is just as funny as you expect it to be. And, also, something incredibly special and emotional. Shauna and Leonard are hilarious together and the wedding shenanigans had me laughing out loud. But, then becoming friends and falling for one another was truly wonderful to watch. Shauna may have a tough as nails exterior, but inside she has as many insecurities as the rest of us, her demons manifesting themselves in her art. And, while Leonard loves to come off as the fun guy to be around without a care in the world, he carries the weight of the world, his past, and his feelings of inadequacy on his shoulders.

I fell so hard for this couple. Their chemistry is simply amazing. And, while I don’t want to give anything away, there are some very heavy and emotional moments in this book that are stunning. It’s not all shenanigans, but it was phenomenal watching Shauna and Leonard find their HEA! 5 stars!

It feels like you've walked into an already established friend group if you're reading it as a standalone like myself. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as many times in life you will find yourself entering friend groups that have been together for years and have private jokes that will have you stretching your head to understand the meaning until you are welcomed in.

The relationship between Leonard and Constance is so sweet. I'm not surprised Constance decided to play matchmaker for her granddaughter, Shauna. Much like her grandmother, Shauna can be seen as a tough broad, at least on the outside.

Shauna also has a bit of a stubborn streak, especially after she was screwed over by her ex and ex-friend's wedding. Letting in a character like Leonard was not something she would have willingly done if her grandmother hadn't forced open the door with a crowbar.

🚨Trigger Warning for neglect and abuse🚨

Both Shauna and Leonard have some demons that they have to overcome if only for their own chance at a HEA. Even with all Leonard's past trauma, He is a knight in cinnamon roll armor, especially when it comes to Shauna. He falls first, especially when he has an insider, Constance, giving him information about her before he gets to hang around her.

This is a fun RomCom that reminds you that with a supportive found family you can find your own HEA.

I was so excited to know more about Leonard & Shauna since learning about them in a previous series (Fairy Godmother Series which I highly recommend to read!). When I found out these two were love interests, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their story & it did not disappoint! ❤️

Shauna has been asked to be the maid of honor of HER Ex & HER Ex-Best Friend. (The audacity right?) 🤯
She only agreed because she doesn’t back down from a challenge but when her grandmother spread the news & photo that her granddaughter was dating a pediatric surgeon who happened to look like our bad boy Leonard, this could either go either good or bad. Leonard doesn’t hesitate to offer his help & is more than ready to report for fake boyfriend duty. Not only do they have to attend a wedding, they have to attend a weekend of pre-wedding events. Time to initiate plan “Revenge” but what happens when this arrangement turns into something more that what these two were expecting?

My GOODNESS! Another amazing read. The comedy aspect of this had me laughing out loud. As much as I laugh with this, my heartstrings were pulled. These two bring out the best of each other & it’s so heartwarming to see. 🥹
These two haven’t had the best past/childhood and my heart goes out to their younger selves for having to go through what they went through. 😭
Leonard is the that type of person who jokes around & always has a smile on his face but beneath that exterior, he’s battling with demons of his own. Shauna comes off as this badass chick which she is and doesn’t take crap from everyone but everything isn’t as what it seems and she pours her emotions into her art.
The storyline from beginning to end was written so well. The side characters in this story made this so much more enjoyable.
The chemistry is so intense & mouthwatering. 🥵

Title: You’re So Bad
Author: Angela Casella
Rating: 4 stars
Spice- 1.5

I had the pleasure of receiving this book as an e-ARC from Angela Casella for an honest review. This was my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. This is the second book in the Finding You series and I’m looking forward to reading the first one (You’re So Extra) and the third that comes out in November (You’re So Basic).

This is your typical rom-com, it’ll have you laughing your way through the book. The banter between the characters is chefs kiss. All the characters were great and you can’t help but fall in love with Leonard. He used to be a “playboy” afraid to settle down, afraid of commitment and afraid of being like his parents. If he didn’t fall then he wouldn’t hurt someone or be hurt by someone. But along came Shauna and that all went out the window.

Shauna is a sweet, sassy, heavily guarded (guarding her heart) woman who’s best friend betrayed her. Now she has to attend wedding activities and the actual wedding of said best friend and ex-boyfriend. Along comes Leonard, who’s friends with her grandmother (weird but go along with it, it’s totally adorable just read the book) and their fake dating scheme starts. He attends all the wedding activities.

Leonard has some secrets from his past that are revealed throughout the story which makes you fall in love with him that much more. He’s an all around good guy who wants to be there for Shauna and make her realize her worth. They are the perfect match to help each other through their pasts and learn to let go and love. They have so much fun together and bring out the best in each other.

I recommend this book to anyone who loves the following tropes
* fake dating
*bad boy
*found family
*revenge (nothing horrible just fun plotting)

While you can start with this second book of the series, I encourage you to read the previous one as most of the characters carry over. And if you really want all the juicy backstory Leonard is first introduced in A Reluctant Roommate (Fairy Godmother Agency #4). I highly recommend reading it.

I felt for Shauna and understood her reasoning for wanting to participate in the wedding. Shauna is a strong woman, but anyone would be having a difficult time with the situation. Luckily, she has a lot of support from her grandma and friends.

I knew that once I learned about the elusive bad boy Leonard’s backstory, I was going to have my heartstrings pulled and fall hard. He had a terrible upbringing and has done the best he could raising himself, while still dealing with the past haunting him. I’m glad he has his friends, especially Burke, who shows him unconditional love, support and advice.

The chemistry between Shauna and Leonard sizzles and leaps off the pages. The witty, sassy banter kept me laughing throughout the book. Along with the mischievous things Leonard did at the pre-wedding festivities. And I loved how protective and supportive he was of Shauna.

I experienced a rollercoaster of emotions as I read this book and couldn’t put it down. All the secondary characters are just as well developed. Angela pulls you into the story and makes you feel like part of the family. I will be patiently waiting, (or trying to anyway), for the next book!.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
