I love stopping in to the Dead End Pawn Shop with Jack and Tess.

Everyone knows Jack.from.the.Warriors of Poseidon series, but in those books he was a serious, grim figure who.suffered a lot (including dying once) especially as he felt.he was.in.love with his co commander Quinn. But when his uncle dies and he's left a half share in his pawn shop we see a whole different side to Jack. You see the shop comes with baggage, in the shape of a wickedly attractive female Tess, who just so happens to own the other half of the.Pawn shop. Jack as we know is magical, one of the few remaining tiger shifters in the world, Tess also has a special gift, when she touches someone she gets a vision of how they are going to.die. Not everyone she touches and only on touching then for the first time, but it still makes her life very difficult. Tess and Jack share an immediate attraction and with Tess, Jack finds.himself becoming happier and more relaxed. At least he would be.if.only people didn't keep.dying around town. Town being Dead End, Florida a place different.from.anywhere else in America as.magical beings live there quite openly, the town even be its.own charter so its.a.place.where anything can happen ................................and often does....

Eye for an Eye is the tenth title in Day’s humorous paranormal mystery series set in Dead End, Florida. The series follows pawn shop owner, Tess, and her tiger-shifter love, ex-rebellion commander Jack. Eye for an Eye continue the series’ chaotic and zany storytelling, with Susan, local
Sheriff and good friend of Tess, retuning to town with a truck-load magical objects she inherited from her grandfather.

When Susan’s mildly-evil aunt is found dead among the enchanted objects, Tess wants to help prove Susan’s innocence. However, with Jack is out of town on a mysterious assignment and Tess is dealing with an out-of-control zucchini plant, she can’t do everything she wants.

The mystery unfolds at a good pace and there are a few twists and turns that keep the reader invested and guessing. Probably added for comedic breaks, the zucchini sidestory is less interesting and was too silly for me. Since the stories are now shared from both Jack and Tess’s POVs and we didn’t follow him on his mission, it was noticeable that Jack was missing. I think the few POVs from Jack may have contained Easter eggs from Day’s Poseidon’s Warriors series, but I am unsure.

Once again, I enjoyed reading about Jack and Tess and the characters and silliness of Dead End. It was fun reading this one so soon after the previous one, too.

My Rating: B

I love this series and this installment is no exception; though I did find it a bit lackluster this time. Perhaps it was the lack of Jack POVs or the minimal appearances of all the secondary characters, but something just felt missing. This does not mean it was any less enjoyable than the rest. I sped through this book as I have the others because the story keeps me so thoroughly engrossed and I need to know what else could happen.

I laughed so hard at the misfortune telling crystal ball and the mutant zucchini plant; definitely two of my favorite parts! The main story is cute as well and I loved all the different suspects in the locked door murder. I honestly had no idea who the culprit was until the final reveal.

I was glad to finally meet Quinn; I realize she is in another series but I started reading this one first not know they were interconnected worlds. If you are like me, do not despair, enough backstory is given in these books that you know enough of what is going on to not feel left out.

Can't wait for the next in the series, I forever need more Jack, Tess, and the gang!

I love these books. Very quirky town with lots of unusual dangers interspersed with comical dialog by a collection of paranormal and other odd citizens.

After Tess receives an Eeyore magic ball that only tells the bad parts of your future with a twist, she becomes involved with other magical objects. Then some of Sheriff Susan’s strange family shows up and a mysterious murder occurs.

At first, Jack isn’t there to help since he’s left on a trip to Sedona, Arizona to help his Atlantis buddies with some rogue vampires, but he shows up just in time.

Footnote: 1) My hubby’s name is Donald and he’s always been called Ducky.

Fave scenes: Jack with the two kids, Tess’s mishap with Lizzie in the café, Mrs. Frost & Alaric and the Battle of the Zucchinis

Just finishing up this fun, fun, fun edition of Tess and Jacks story. Really! Mutant zucchini plants and benevolent daggers added to a crystal ball that seems to give only bad warnings. Add in a visit from members of the Atlantis world and you just have to read and read until the end. Which you regret coming. Leaving you looking forward to the ongoing stories of the wild and wacky Dead End inhabitants!

Super entertaining!!! Couldn't put it down!

I have read all the previous books (more than once).
I absolutely loved this book.
The zucchini plant reminded me of the movie, so I was thrilled when the connection was mentioned (awesome!)
I'm so glad Jack wasn't "away" for too long!
The book ticked all the boxes for me.
I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a great time, (you need to have a good memory in order to keep up) and disconnect from reality.
Fun, fun, fun :-)

I love Tiger’s Eye Mysteries!

I can not get enough of these books. This book was no exception. New and quirky things happen all the time. I have loved Jack from the first time I encountered him in the Atlantis series. I am glad he has found happiness. I hope the crew from Atlantis keeps showing up.
The only thing bad about these books is waiting for the next one to come out!

love this series

I love this series and all of it’s unusual and interesting characters. Of course Jack is my favorite character of all.Jack and Tess are the absolute most adorable couple.

This book is full of twisted mysteries. It is quirky, fun and highly entertaining. Throw in a dead body and you have just another normal day in Dead End. I can’t wait for the next adventure.

Jack is absent for part of this story. I find that I enjoy him much more than Tess. We have evil enchanted objects, visitors from Atlantis, an overgrown plant, thieving and deceptive relatives, and a compelled murder. We also have a few other bizarre and irrelevant plot points.
Typos: sentence fragment, moms that should be capitalized, and a "she" and "her" that I have no idea to whom they are referring.

So much fun! An Eye for and Eye is as delightful and warm as this series is known for! Shifters, and gnomes, and negative magic are only a part of what makes Eye for and Eye a winner, oh, and I almost forgot the zucchini! Tess finally gets to meet the other woman Jack's life, Quinn! Sheriff Susan inherits magical artifacts and becomes suspect in murder. Just another day in Dead Eye.

This series is the best!

This series keeps getting better! Tess and Jack are my favorite couple. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book in the series. Then when it comes out, I immediately get it, start reading and have a very hard time putting it down! The only thing bad about the book, is that it has to end!

Dead End, Florida IS Florida

As always, Tess, Jack and the rest of Dead End, Florida deliver a great mystery mixed with the weirdness that makes the Tiger's Eye mysteries so enjoyable to read. Really was entertained but now I have a certain Broadway's show running on repeat in my head.

Another "can't put it down" book

I love this series. The only problem is that I can't put each book down until I finish it and then I have to wait for the next one.
I hope LIZZIE's character develops more. She sounds like she will be a great addition to the Dead-end family. Also I'm interested to see how SHELLY progresses

Love this book A tiger eye series really isn't enjoyable series this book particularly had me laughing extra hard I mean come on a mutant plant a knife with a mind of it's own dark magic and murder who could ask for more. Oh wait we can throw in a Jack adventure and the love between Tess and Jack then throw in the rest of the cast and you will not be disappointed.

Magic mayhem prevales in this edition of Jack and Tess' story. Sheriff Susan comes back home from spending time with her father's affairs and many magical artifacts that ropes Tess into dealing with those and her crazy money hungry family. Jack is gone for a portion of the book, but comes home to back Tess up. Non stop adventure and fun throughout the book.

Brilliant Series

Eye For An Eye: Tigers Eye Mysteries by Alyssa Day. Sheriff Susan’s aunt is murdered in Susan house. Every suspect has an alibi but Tess and Jack are on the case. Tess’s friend Ollie gives her a zucchini plant that grows at a very fast degree and eventually takes over the shop.

Watch out for the veggies!

This story had me laughing throughout. Jack and Tess had quite the adventure and I loved getting to catch up with some of my favorite from Atlantis. I may never look at another vegetable plant or sequins without thinking about this story and having a good laugh.

These are great books. And since this book debuted on Halloween, a man eating zucchini plant was a nice touch. I love Tess and Jack and the quirky town of Dead End. Just wish this book had had more of Tess and Jack together.

OK

There’s a lot of unnecessary side information that doesn’t add to the story or the main characters. I like the characters and the story is okay but when you take out the extraneous stuffing it’s a really short story.
