This review will be different. Personally, I had a lot of thoughts on this book. First off, Daisy was significantly better than Rose, while Rose was still annoying (spoiler alert), even in this book. Daisy was actually relatable, she had the whole ‘Im a teenager and I dont care’ vibe. Daisy had a lot more development than Rose, and it just made her so much better.

THANK YOU. She was so much better than Rose. While Rose was annoying and whiny, Daisy was actually relatable. Throughout most of the book,

I feel like the book would have been over a lot faster if Daisy had listened to her family, but she didn't, and that was refreshing. He was Daisy's boyfriend and pretty toxic. I do understand how Daisy didn’t know, he was kinda loving and supportive to her.

She did NOT need to be that big of a character in this book. She was so annoying, someone had to fill their word count.

I think Daisy had every right to be mad at her mom, but she did take to far. I think Hal came in very fast for their father, who only died 3 years ago. I dont understand how everyone else just seemed to get over their father's passing when Hal came in so fast.

I'd give this 3.5-4.0 rating. I liked a lot better than Rose's story.

This one is about Daisy, the second oldest Walker daughter, who leads a hardworking, happy life. She is a star athlete at her school, popular, with perfect grades. When she injures her leg and can no longer participate in her sports she becomes very depressed. Right about this time she also meets Peter, a [cute] high school dropout who had just moved to town. Peter's bitter and careless, rebel party-boy attitude begins to rub off on her and her family watches as she spirals away from her once perfect life.

Daisy is a better main character than Rose and the conflict here was a lot easier to sympathize with as there is an actual threat to Daisy when she begins hanging around Peter, who has no goals and only likes to party and drink and tried to pull her down with him. Daisy is the strongest sister and I enjoyed this story a lot, there was real drama and it felt authentic. However, I feel the older you are when you read this, the more frustrated you would feel with Daisy because you'd be over and done with the rebellious, "whatever" phase of your life. I'm only 17 and I felt myself getting annoyed at the way Daisy was manipulated by Peter.

But the ending of the story was pleasing and believable and it was nice to watch the way Daisy's personality changed throughout the book. I would suggest this to others who like teen fiction, for younger and older teens. On another note, the writing isn't fantastic but its believable from a first person perspective of a teen girl.

I am currently reading this novel called "The Year I Turned Sixteen", the novel i originally own has the story of all four sisters, but i have completed the second sister, Daisy. As Daisy turns sixteen she realizes that she's become the best and most helpful sister. She deals best, after her fathers death and is her mother's rock. She soon finds a boyfriend who is the complete opposite if her. She believes that she doesn't want to be the good sister anymore. But just as Daisy is about to lose her true self, she looks in the mirror, and she doesnt recognize herself anymore.

I think out of all four sisters, Daisy is the strongest. She is the one that helps all her family members. Always being very protective. She fits in well with all her sisters even though she is the most different. She loved sports and stayed true to herself, even though nobody asked her to. Although i have two more sisters to read through, Daisy's character has left an impression on my mind

At one part in the story, i think that Daisy becomes very childish and doesnt realize that her family loves her, and cares for her. Until Daisy looked in the mirror, she felt on top of the world, and didn't even once care about whatt her family was up to. And due to that, i think Daisy became the baby of the family. The one that needed help most.

Daisy is sixteen, and she's a star athlete, but she suffers an injury and is out for the season. In her free time, she meets Peter, a bad boy that her family does not approve of. But she doesn't care and she keeps seeing him.

I liked Daisy a lot, which surprised me because I'm not into sports and I thought I wouldn't be able to relate. But the relationship between Daisy and Peter is strong and complicated and it held my interest. Also, the strength of this book makes the subsequent books more powerful.

Compared to Rose, I think I may like rose better, but not by much. I think Daisy was just being stupid for a good portion of the book and didn't want to admit it for fear of looking stupid or for fear of being wrong. I do agree with how she felt about Hal though. I don't think it was correct of him to say all of the things he did, no matter how long he had been dating their mom. It's just not right and I think thats why Daisy behaved as she did towards him.

I give it a 2.5. I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't very engaging. It was just okay. I feel like it would've been better if it was a little more detailed. IDK.
