A nostalgic compilation of biographical profiles looks back at the all too short lives of fifty popular celebrities who died too soon, including John Lennon, JFK Jr., Steve Irwin, Marilyn Monroe, Selena, River Phoenix, James Dean, Elvis Presley, and others. 25,000 first printing.
I'd rate this about 2.5 stars, but sadly GRs won't let me rate with half stars. Of the 65 stars remembered, some I'd either never heard of, or could care less. This isn't for the faint of heart however, as most of the short articles on each person describe the circumstances of their death, even if it was gross, bloody, drug induced, or suicide. And to end it on a bad note, the last "celebrity" listed was the killer whale "Keiko" from Free Willy, who had no business being in this book. Don't waste your money on the book. Glad it only cost me 99 cents and happily getting rid of it on PBS as it's on someone's wish list.
I can't say that I agree with some of the "Gone Too Soon" listings and there were a lot of people that could have been included but were not. It was an interesting look at all these lives, though.
