My husband picked out a sweater from this book that he really liked. It's above my skill level so I'll be working slow and getting help from our local yarn shop but I'm excited to work on a project that's for him. I'm adding it to my Ravelry project bucket today. I would also like to locate Merano wool that's less than $20 a skein since I need 14 for the project.
This book has classically shaped, stunning sweaters for men from a known designer using (mostly) beautiful Rowan yarns. There are lots of texture, cables, some color work, and a bit of Fair Isle. The photos are moody (no smiling!) and gorgeous but not necessarily helpful in seeing what's going on in the sweater! There's nothing I'd knit from here, but only because the men in my life are really picky in what they'll wear. Otherwise, there's plenty of inspiration here.
Rowan patterns - nice selection of sweaters and vests with a few scarves thrown in and one pair of socks. May try the socks sometime but not likely to make any thing else. Compared to Interweave's Men in Knits I prefer Interweave.
