As Roger sits and reminisces about the 52 days and 2,110,000 steps he took, He never would have imagined he could take a journey by foot to this Nation’s capital. He was physically prepared to walk through five states and 1,065 miles for human trafficking awareness, but within him there was a struggle to believe that he was the man for the job. However, it was the most fulfilling, satisfying, terrifying and profound thing he had ever had the honor to experience. Guilt from a failed marriage for which he takes the brunt of the responsibility, and not being a good example for his kids when they were younger, caused him to doubt and question the whole mission. He had convinced him self that his past mistakes and failures would define him. Have you ever let the feeling of unworthiness or regret convince you that your best days are behind you? Has it stopped you from pursuing a passion from which, at one point, no one could deter you? As he shares his journey he hopes you find encouragement in the many people he met along the way, the emails he has received from survivors, and the heartfelt stories that have touched his soul forever. Not only was his mission accomplished, but as he began his journey the struggle to believe was no longer overwhelming. He was the man for the job. It’s never too late to be a better person. Use the past as fuel.
The story of a young man who championed a cause that really didn’t affect him personally. His determination to unveil the evil of human trafficking and to gets us thinking about what we can do. Loved the help he received along the way. There are still good people in this worldS. Thanks Roger for this testimonial.
