In the year 2097, ancient catacombs full of metallic skeletons were discovered on the planet Mars. Kaya, a young archaeologist and company employee, is in charge of unraveling their secrets. Through an unexpected series of events, with her team of scientists, she will embark on a journey that will change their lives forever.
As the author of this book, I wanted to step back and reflect on it from the perspective of a critical reader. Writing a balanced review of my own work is challenging, but I think it's important to acknowledge both the strengths and areas for growth. Here we go:
Solid story, but really short. Several nice twists and fast action, but the 3rd part of the book is a long winded explanation of the sci fi lore, and no action. Maybe no action was intended, who knows? Still, characters are simple and relatable enough but nothing special, journey-entry style of presenting/narrating the story is interesting. But the pure cosmic transcendence author intended as a triumphant feeling of idealism...a bit too ambitious goal for this kind of book. And what is with the appendix after the story that last 100+ pages? Weird stuff, totally unnecessary.
