About the author

Dorothy Kunhardt was the author of over 50 children's book, including the legendary interactive baby book, Pat the Bunny. She was also a historian, writing several books about 19th century America, including a well-known account of the aftermath of Lincoln's assassination.

We were lucky enough to have my mom record this story for the Yoto for our kids and it's a delight!
"Maybe and apple picker will do?" is often quoted in our home :)

One of my absolute favorite books as a child. I have tried to get a copy, but it's long out of print, and the copies that still still exist are pricey, for collectors I suppose. The Lucky Mrs. T has a beloved Puffin, who is lost, and later returns. Heart-warming, whimsical, sweet, and imaginative.
