Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Poisoned Lilly
Lillian Fields is young, talented and beautiful. Known on stage as ‘Loraine Fontaine’; the public love her, and the critics predict a glittering future as one of Victorian England’s most celebrated actresses. But someone wants her dead. Scared for her safety, she confides her fears to her friend Mary, who happens to be married to Dr. John H. Entertaining mystery listening 🎶🔰
Another will written British 🏰 romantic family and friends relationships mystery adventure thriller novel by Roger Riccard. Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson are called in to help a girlfriend of Dr Watson's wife Mary. The woman 🚺 is an actress in the theater 🎥. They are at the evening performance after which they visit her dressing room where she collapses and is rushed to the hospital. Mary collapse at the hospital with different symptoms. Sherlock and Watson are working on the clues with limited success. Then a few clues lead to a break through and the truth. I would recommend this novel and author to 👍 fans of Sherlock Holmes and readers of mystery novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶to Alexa read books 📚. 2023 😀👒☺

I found this to be an enjoyable read and felt like it did keep with the style of writing as shown by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the original works.

‘’Sherlock Holmes. il teatro dei veleni’’ di Roger Riccard è un libro pubblicato nel 2023 e fa parte della serie del giallo mondadori Sherlock.
Roger Riccard grande appassionato di Sherlock Holmes, dopo un’infanzia travagliata decise di lanciarsi nel mondo della lettura e successivamente in quello della scrittura, fino a diventare un autore di nuovi racconti ispirati all’investigatore creato da Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
In particolare ‘’il teatro dei veleni’’, che è il libro in questione. Questo racconto è ambientato a Londra, nella primavera del 1890.
I generi di questo libro rientrano senza dubbio nel thriller, nel mistery e nel poliziesco.
Ho scelto di leggere questo libro perché ne ero completamente incuriosita.
Il racconto si apre con Mary Morstan, la moglie del dottor Watson, che si presenta da Holmes in qualità di cliente. In realtà, a chiedere tramite lei l'aiuto di Sherlock Holmes è Lillian Fields, in arte Loraine Fontaine, attrice dalla crescente popolarità sui palcoscenici londinesi. La donna si sente in pericolo a seguito di alcuni incidenti che, per quanto possano apparire casuali, considerati nell'insieme delineano una sequenza allarmante.
Da qui si susseguono una serie di eventi e di indizi fino ad arrivare alla risoluzione del caso.
I personaggi principali sono quattro: Sherlock Holmes, il suo inseparabile amico, il dottor Watson e sua moglie, la signora Mary Watson e Lillian Fields, la vittima che chiede aiuto.
Lo stile di lettura è scorrevole e il racconto è molto breve, si legge in una giornata senza problemi.
Non crea un forte coinvolgimento emotivo, ma riesce a suscitare una grande curiosità. Ad un certo punto, l’unico pensiero è arrivare alla fine per capire chi è veramente l'artefice.
È una classica avventura in stile Sherlock Holmes, senza sorprese ma ben costruita.
Un punto che trovo piacevole nelle vicende del protagonista principale è il suo coinvolgimento emotivo : il flusso dei suoi pensieri e la riservatezza, anche la sua sofferenza. Questo lato più umano del detective è stato reso in maniera impeccabile dall’autore.
Do a questo libro 4 stelle su 5, quasi perfetto. Non per una nota particolarmente negativa, pur essendo ben scritto, ci sono avventure più interessanti e coinvolgenti.
Lo consiglio a chi desidera affacciarsi nel mondo thriller e mistery soprattutto se è alle prime armi.

Adorable
Adorable is not my first word to describe a Sherlock Holmes story, but it was so fun and refreshing to see Mary Watson play a little larger role and interact with our favorite duo, it was the only word that came to mind. That and the neat conclusion...
A lighter mystery with historical cameos thrown in (if you know what to look for) made this pastiche a rainy day delight!

Another good one
Mr. Riccard is, in my opinion, one of the outstanding authors of the Holmes pastiche. The characters of Watson and Holmes ring true and he captures the voice of both expertly. The mystery is excellent and I could not have solved it without the help of Holmes, whose observations are spot on. I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Most Intriguing Detective Story
Roger Riccard is authentic in his renditions of Sherlock Holmes mysteries. As usual, his story had me completely mystified until the very end. He never disappoints!

The Game is Afoot!
I followed Holmes, Mr. And Mrs. Watson explore a new mystery. The story's plot was solid, it's characters delightful. A great read.

Good book
Good book it read very much like the Sherlock Holmes in the TV shows that I watched in my younger days. It was great to learn that the characters were taken from history of that time.

Very enjoyable
An entertaining read. I enjoyed this story quite a bit. I thought the characters were done very well and the mystery even had a bit of a twist. I'd recommend.
