Emma, her best friend, Nessa, and her ex-boyfriend, Tom, start an investigation into the family. Eventually, Emma returns to the town her family originated from, Digby in Nova Scotia. With the help of a local historian, she tries to construct the family history, only to be thwarted. Someone has tried to eliminate all records.

I love a good mystery book, and I love a little paranormal. This book had both! I read it all in one day! The storyline sucked me in. A young woman starts seeing a ghost and to figure out who she is, the woman must dig into her family roots. However, she uncovers scandal and buried secrets that apparently other people wanted to stay buried forever! Do yourself a favor and read this book!

I love a good mystery or ghost story and this was the best of both worlds. I also loved the references to the local area in Missouri near where I live. I loved that Emma was brave enough to follow her heart and her family tree. The story kept me on my guard and I was surprised by the ending!!

The story was original, I don't remember reading a story like this. And I've read a few genealogy mysteries. It's funny, but we all have family secrets.
