I am Pregnant and my older brother’s best friend is the baby daddy
The preppy frat boy had been a thorn in my side since we were young.
Now he is all grown up, a Navy SEAL, and an oil Billionaire.
He is recently widowed and can’t keep a nanny.
I needed a job, and a place to stay.
I promised myself that I could keep the cold war-hero at bay, keep everything professional.
But I was a sucker for the father who loved and protected not only his daughter, but the entire community.
His gaze ignites a fire in me I have never known.
During a tornado, I found myself wrapped in his strong arms and he claimed my V-card and my heart.
He thought he could never have another child after his war wounds.
But here I am two months pregnant and needing to tell him he will be a dad again.
Charles and Kate’s story has intense drama, love kept secret, angst, growth, grief, explosive chemistry and a happily ever after you want to read no cliffhangers!
I am reading this series but this book connect to the other book’s characters in the story. This romance is a sweet one for Charles Emory and Kate Bailey. Their story takes place during the pandemic and a hurricane- FYI for triggers. Charles needs a live in nanny and his BF and CFO James Bailey has a sister Kate that is studying child psychology. Kate is not a fan of Charles because he is her brother’s BF. Charles knows that he has to ask Kate himself and she agrees because of CeCe. The daughter steals the story at times as she is a clever girl. James also plays a big role in this book. A beautiful romance that tugs on your heart. Read On!
This is a sweet, gentle read - but not what I was expecting based on the title. Charles is a Navy Seal left with some physical challenges after an injury while deployed. Kate is hired as a nanny for his daughter after her mother dies from an illness. The entire book takes place during the time of Covid (although it is not mentioned as such) and kudos to the author for writing a novel that brings in the challenges of a modern world. This is a slow burn, with the “secret baby” not factoring into the story until close to the end.
I did enjoy it, but it was a bit too sweet and slow for my personal taste.
This was a great book, was very well written and was about a subject we had all had to deal with over the last couple of years. Charles is a great character, doing all he can to help all his employees, who was affected by the horrible covid disease. Charles had lost his wife to the disease and was grieving, and needed help with his young daughter Cece. what a sweetheart she was. Charles has a great friend called James and he helps Charles hire a nanny by asking his sister Kate who is laid off due to the outbreak. Kate was a great character and was just what Cece and charles needed. Great read, highly recommend.
3,5 stars. This is a surprisingly decent story placed in the Covid pandemonium. The title's baby is so secret that the reader can get to know about it almost at the very end. Sadly there's no editing at all and even the author herself didn't read this book before its publishing because the grammar is very poor. Sometimes the author is confused about whether the book is written in first or third person even though it's dual POV from the beginning. Otherwise, it's a feel-good story which is great and the cover is a perfect selling point.
Charles is a former navy seal and oil billionaire who is Kate’s brothers’ best friend, and he has been recently widowed leaving him as a single dad to his daughter, and Kate is convinced to become her nanny. This is a well written story which is a slow burn, emotional roller coaster, enemies / lovers romance, with family, friendships, loss, grief, drama, secrets, angst, undeniable chemistry, challenges, humor, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and sweet page turner. Charles is grieving losing his wife and now left to raise their daughter on his own. When he realizes that he needs some help he turns to Kate. Kate was his daughter's teacher, and she is struggling lately as well so she agrees to work for him. Its not long before things get complicated between them. Will this turn into something more between them? Or will it cause more problems?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

What will become of these two. She really doesn’t wish to become his nanny for his child. He seem to be mean and not very welcoming. A wonderful story that is told and an amazing ending. Read this page turner and you will be surprised!
I really enjoyed this story of Charles and Kate. I cried and laughed. It’s a story that could really happen in real life. I loved the double epilogues!!
I probably wouldn’t read anymore the author is slow to start and all over the place with the story line I fell asleep way too many times trying to finish this book
His Second Chance At Love and Happiness - Even though Kate had detested Charles since high school and her opinion of him didn’t change as adults, she knew he was her last resort to helping her graduate with a degree. Charles was still reeling from the death on his wife, whilst trying to juggle bringing up his daughter and managing his company. However, the last person he expected to agree to help him with his daughter and running his home, was Kate.
Finding a middle ground to ensure harmony in the him, allowed them to get to know each other as adults, which led them embark on a secret relationship. Unfortunately, a catastrophic event occurred which shook their lives and Charles daughter later found herself in danger, which gave them the courage to pursue a forever happiness together, after they managed resolve all the issues in their path.
This was such a steamy, beautiful written, emotional brother’s best friend love story, that will take you on one heck of a ride and leave you thirsting for more. I just couldn’t help but fall in love with the precocious little girl and her pets. It was a wonderful story, that you will definitely enjoy.

We start with a memorial service, then a mad dash to gather dorm belongings as things shut down due to a pandemic. A trip home to the farm where there really is no room. Kate is finally convinced to help with child care for her brother's friend, Charles, who she convinces herself she doesn't like. The growing pandemic forces her to take on a larger role in the family to where she is having to take over everything. The ice thaws and they grow closer. Tornado forces evacuation to a safe room in the building where they get closer. Devastating damage to the building, forces everyone to leave and try to settle elsewhere, helping others along the way. Her brother, James, meets them outside and gets them, all including a caretaker, to safety. The rebuild begins! Things start to settle when daughter Cece is kidnapped....and then???? I recommend you read this book to find out, as this is just the start! I love this book, my heart is still pounding. I do think it is the author's best yet! Susan C
Charles was Kate's brother's best friend, and she couldn't stand him since she was a child. He was stressed trying to run a business and raise his young daughter after his wife's death. He desperately needs a nanny, and she needs money for school, so she reluctantly agrees to help him out. Their chemistry is explosive, and their banter is hilarious at times. No shortage of drama, angst and danger. Throw in a kidnapping and a storm that devastates the area. He was injured in the war and thought he couldn't have any more children. Wow, what a surprise when she is two months late. A good book with a lot of turmoil but eventually a good HEA, His daughter is adorable and added a lot to the story. If you love romance that contains a grumpy ex Navy SEAL & a the nanny then Vivy Skys has you covered with Charles & Kate's story. He's recently widowed, best friends with her brother & desperately needs a nanny. I think he's a grumpy arse but when you need to a job & place to stay you can't be too picky. Remaining professional is not easy especially when sparks begin to fly. When a tornado hits the line between professional & personal gets obliterated leaving behind surprise neither saw coming. Will this end us or bring us together?.

This books starts with the world being in a pandemic situation like we had with COVID and people having to isolate, wear masks and are sadly dying from the contagious disease.
This is exactly what we went through with COVID, so it really brings this book into reality and makes you feel like you're actually living through it.
Although you've got a HEA, there's also a storm, having to build a new community, a kidnapping and lots more. Definitely well worth reading!

This was Brothers Best Friend, Age-Gap Enemies To Lovers, Single Dad and Military Romance Tropes. This was a wonderful story about Charles trying to live again after his wife's death and raising his daughter. Kate was in need of a job and place to stay. So a live in Nanny job is perfect. But as they start spending more time, they both start to discover and explore this strong chemistry between thrm. They don't have an easy ride emotionally or physically. There are plenty of obstacles, pain, loss, grief, love, humour, drama, love and hot spice.
Charles is mourning the death of his wife and needs help to take care of his daughter. Despite their animosity he asks his best friends sister Kate for help. Once they are under one roof the spark between them is ignited and burns high. This was a charming story, and the evolution of their romance was beautiful. The added subplot was a fun little twist.
