A crime-lover's collection of short stories includes works by such notable authors as Robert Barnard, Antonia Fraser, Reginald Hill, Peter Lovesey, Sue Grafton, Ellis Peters, and Tony Hillerman. Reprint.
I like to read a short story between books as a palate cleanser before I choose my next book. I have been reading this book for awhile and it is hard to remember each story to review them. This book has a good mixture of longer and short, short stories. It also includes a puzzle for the reader to solve. I did enjoy ending with a Sue Grafton story, as Kinsey Millhone is one of my favorite characters.
"Newcomers, international names, and old favorites offer up a varied itinerary for the adventurous traveler in crime. The accommodations are diverse: a convent or a gas chamber, castles in Spain or flats in Hong Kong, a room full of cobwebs or a Breton barn, Millionaires' Row in London or perhaps a suite on a luxury liner bound for New York. ~~back cover
A nice selection of short crime stories. Unfortunately, I saw through the last one immediately.
