It was the night before Christmas and Rachel had no boyfriend to celebrate Christmas with. Her friends eagerly tried to fix her up with a date, night after night. No one could find the perfect man for her.
A handsome dark haired stranger walked into the bar as they toasted with Christmas cheer.Rachel's jaw dropped as this delicious looking guy walked straight across to her with mistletoe above his head and smacked a kiss on her lips.Would this be her christmas gift or her man for all seasons?
Xavier Edwards (it might be his real name, no one is really sure) has spent his life surrounded by women, and writing. Growing up in rural Australia before the age of the Internet and cable television, there was no better refuge than in books. Any and all genres were absorbed as he and his three sisters grew up far from the hectic pace of the big smoke. The wide expanse of open country and natural beauty have carried across to his writing, forming evocative backdrops to the sensual dance taking place in his stories.
After leaving school, Xavier joined the military and has served with honour in the Air Force, from leading brave men and women into combat to searching for, and finding, people lost at sea. Joining him on this journey has been his wife, three daughters, and two cats.
Behind it all, Xavier continued to write. Freelance journalism proved lucrative and gave him his first taste of a readership that found his writing engaging and evocative. The imagery that continued to dance through his mind, would not suit this audience and when he did write it down and gave it to a small, trusted circle of readers, it had amazing results. Quite by accident, he had discovered a knack for Erotica.
4 stars. I would love to read a sequel for this short-story. :) Holidays, erotica, romance
Cover It's not a bad cover, but it doesn't tell me anything from the story. I don't know, I would like a more holiday themed cover.
Characters I was really intrigued by the male character. It was unexpected. I had no idea I would read about having sex. lol It was unexpected, fun! The female, nothing memorable really. She was ok.
plot Again, it's different from what I've read from Xavier before. I really like his twist with the identity of the character, but I wanted maybe a more complete ending. lol Of course, this is a good book to have a sequel.
Heat It was a 2 in a scale of 5. It basically had one scene, which was good. Again I was surprised by the bend over. :)
Impressions and opinion
This books seems like a prequel for a great story. I have never read a Kinky story with and would definitely be game to read one. :)

A cute story that's sure to leave a goofy smile on your face, even if it's only inside your mind. A little bit whimsical, a little bit hot, with a dash of paranormal flavor thrown in, it's just the thing to fit the bill when you're looking for a steamy little story to spend a little time with, especially on a late night near Christmas. There is just enough revealed about the characters, especially Nick, and their backstories, to make you want to know more, though perhaps the charm here lies in the fact that everything isn't laid out and explained in detail. The hints we're give are enough to fill in the blanks and make the whole thing more intriguing that it might be if everything were spelled out. Recommended for anyone who likes short story erotica who is looking to be entertained and titillated for a short while.
This is my new favourtie book by Xavier, what a delightful Christmas treat.
Brilliantly written. I liked Rachel and Nick and the sex scene was HOT HOT HOT. I also enjoyed the mystery element to this story. I was keen to keep reading to find out what Nick did for a job that so many women didn't like.............the ending had a nice wee twist that made everything fall into place.
It's whimsical and a nice, fluffy short story to read for the holidays. I finished it in 30 minutes, so, it's short, but worth your time. The sex scene was ok... but it's the storyline I liked. But, I'm a sucker for holiday romance stories. For goodness sakes, I spend December glued to Lifetime Christmas movies. :-) I especially love watching different Santas find their beloved Mrs. Claus.
Rachel is trying to drown some worries at the bar when a gorgeous man with a mistletoe comes along. Not letting this chance get away from her, she grabs with both hands, and the end result surprises her, big time. Quick, cute read with smutty fluff and Christmas feelings.
Ok, I have to say that I´m a romantic one, so, since I read the dedication I falled in love with the book and the autor, then I started reading the story and I liked it very much, it is a face of "Nick" that we don´t usually see, so for second time I falled in love with Nick (I have falled for other Nick just like him in another story) but (and here is the hated "but") I was expecting to know more of the story!!! Gosh!! ¿how you (Xavier) dare to leave me like this? hahahaha I wanted to hear what happened next, how he explined himself, what she did, his weird but lovely family, his pets, the magic and mythic house in the snow and all that romantic stuff...
An other thing, I read in the dedication that this is not the way that the autor usually writes, I have not read the other books but let me tell you that I liked this very much, 5 more pages with that hidden story I´m fixing in my head and I would give you 5 stars! And for the record, I´ll read more of you this year ;)
Divorced Rachel is not looking forward to another Christmas alone - feeling like she's one cat away from being a 'cat lady' and she's out celebrating at the local bar with coworkers when a mysterious stranger appears. She feels an instant connection with Nick who seems to be looking for someone to complete his life and his work history is very curious. Cute quicky with a long-term possibility.
Well at first I thought it was going to be a bit of a yawn, but once it got past the awkward "how do you do" stage I was sucked in. The characters were lovely and the story had a lovely feel good feel to boot. Throw in the realistic great sex it was a great 1st time experience for me with this author & I have already purchased 2 more of his books. Thanks Xavier. It was good for m.
What a hot steamy night on Christmas Eve! It seemed as though the words were melting from the pages as I read through this book with lightning speed! Whimsical and fun but just as naughty as was needed to keep me interested throughout! Wonderful, exhilarating read. Thanks Xavier and keep 'me coming! I want this man in my life!
Xavier. I'm so happy to be your friend this book is quite good especially for a short read. That was one naughty St. Nick. Merry Christmas to all! All year long!
Wow, had no idea where this was going, but loved it! This could have definitely been a longer story, I am still wondering on where it goes from there...
Mmmmm, as always, Xavier has written a beautiful tale in the holiday spirit leaving a little mystery fy own imagination on what will be on boxing day. I wish my yules were more like this ;-)
What an entertaining story! I was drawn right in, filled with curiosity and wondering what would happen next. My only annoyance is that it ended too soon!
