Within the framework of your religious background, or your personal evolving philosophy, Process Meditation provides an ongoing spiritual discipline.
The former director of Dialogue House, Dr. Ira Progoff has worked toward a dynamic, humanistic psychology as private therapist, lecturer, and group leader. He has served as Bollingen Fellow and as Director of the Institute for Research in Depth Psychology at Drew University. He was a leading authority on C.G. Jung, depth psychology and transpersonal psychology as well as journal writing.
Dr. Progoff completed his doctoral dissertation on the psychology of C.G. Jung from the New School for Social Research in New York City. His thesis was published in 1953 as Jung's Psychology and Its Social Meaning. He is best known for his development of the Intensive Journal® Program and the Process Meditation method.
This is part 2 of Progoff's great work on journaling, At a Journal Workshop. Like it predecessor, the best way to learn this complete and sometimes complex method is to attend a workshop where you get hands on instruction and the opportunity to use the sections of the IJ that make up Process Meditation. Progoff was ahead of his time in his ideas of psychotherapy and gave the world a journal program so well thought out that it can be its own form of psychotherapy. It is completely different from any other journal workshop you will ever take and can become a guide through life. JLL author of Reading Thomas Merton.
