A big thanks to NetGalley and Stephen Marte for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
Welp. I am officially tossing my phone out a window.
Chipped: A Beyond the Stellar Empire Adventure by Stephen Marte is a science fiction novel that is set in a world where the Earth is as barren as the moon. But with the advancements in technology, life amongst the stars has become possible. All while the human race declines with the manifestation of the internet directly implanted into brains through a chip, and random genetics are part of the past. Protagonist, Pax, is not chipped, and fends off the land like those of the olden years. But one day he stumbles upon a crashed ship, and finds Mila, a synthetic with a secret. One that will change Pax's world forever.
This book was wonderful! I loved the colorful cast of characters, the twisty plot, and the mind-blowing world building. It also completely changed my entire perspective on technology, in which I will forever refuse to let anyone stick something in my head. Nope. No thanks. No matter how cool it is, I DON'T WANT IT.
