It is one of those books that you wanna read with a red pen/highlighter in hand and mark your favorite quotes, and then add them to your commonplace book.
I recommend reading it!

The book gathered hadiths and narrations from the sahabas and the pious predecessors, and sometimes some poetry where we are given advice to prepare for the day of judgment.
The author grouped them in counsels by the numbers of counsel that was given.
This book is helpful to find arguments and motivation to leave this dunya as for the true reward would be on the akhira. There are a lot of things that would help you to find your way to the akhira by following Allah's commands, the prophet sws 's sunnah, how this dunya in unworthy except for worshiping Allah SWT.
It pleased me to see some quotes from Uthman and Ali radhi Allahu 'anhum because I was not used to see a lot of saying from them after the death of the prophet peace be upon him.

A very little book but the wight of it's knowledge is out of measure. To prepare yourself and to know how the noble predecessors have prepared themselves for the day of the judgement, how did they fight their nafs, the shaytaan, how didid they lead the worldly life without much expectation from it, it's a must read book.
