A poignant story with many lessons to learn. A tale of grief, compassion and unity that appeal to common humanity values. I was not prepared to learn that Annie’s mom is Maria and she has no relationship with Loong’s mother but fate brought them together bounded by the connection of knowing Loong. A 50 pages of book is impactful enough for me to understand the grief that taken over Annie’s grandpa and the sadness that clouded Annie’s grandmother over losing their only son. Hence, what’s the jade bangle got to do with this? Read the book to find out.
