Regan Johnson takes the classic children's nursery rhyme and provides it with a new twist. Set in China, this bunny doesn't like to play with field mice. Instead, he prefers chopping down bamboo.
An amusing but thoughtful (and environmental!) take on the "Little Bunny Foo-Foo" children's poem/song. (And, yeah, sorry to all of you who now have that stuck in your head--ack!) Little Bunny Kung-Fu goes around chopping down bamboo, until a panda, a monkey, a tiger and a dragon show him the importance of preserving the bamboo forest because they all rely on the bamboo in one way or another. Nice environmental message without being too over-the-top.
A wonderful new book to add to anyone's collection, despite its target audience of early readers. The story flows rhythmically, if not always in strict rhyme, and the illustrations are well done and humorous. This book has been selected as a Borders Original Voices title, and hopefully will have a chance to win the kids title at the end of the year.
One of the most creative kid's books I've seen in awhile. If you grew up with the sing-song tale of "little bunny foo-foo," you'll love this book! A very eco-friendly, zen twist to this favorite children's rhyme.
Cute story:) A fun take on the "traditional" song with an environmental message. Neat, fairly simple, black and white drawings of various animals (and a dragon). A fun read.:)
