For me, this book didn't start off very well, and from there I just couldn't get into it. The story opens with Samantha, a twenty-six year old, running away from her parent's house, drinking way too much, throwing up all over herself, and then asking a complete stranger to live with him and work for him.
The first glimpse of Samantha we got wasn't a good one and from there her character was never redeemed. At least not for me. I was hoping that Clay would be such an amazing character that it would make up for Samantha, but no such luck. He wasn't bad but sort of blah and honestly there wasn't anything special that stood out about him.
The story, itself, wasn't anything horrible but, again, I just couldn't get into it. I didn't sense any connection between the character and the way it ended annoyed me. The relationship was going well, but of course there needed to be some drama to bring it all to an end.
I can say that the secondary characters were really interesting and I am waiting for their stories. This one may not have been a winner but I won't give up on this series.

“I think I like being a bad girl,” she said huskily. “It’s quite liberating.” Confession out in the open, she pushed up from the table, and Clay quickly realized that trouble was heading his way.
There’s nothing less romantic than sussing out through thin walls that your current relationship is a product of a life that had been planned out for you. Or that your boyfriend’s interest in you has been an utterly perfunctory means to an end, all orchestrated by a dominant father with business on the mind. For Samantha, it’s either a choice between an arranged marriage, perpetuated upper-class airs and graces and a life deferring to the patriarchal pedigree of the Jamieson modus vivendi, or to use this opportunity to finally seal her independence. But that comes with the price of leaving splendour, security, privilege and instant wealth all at the doorstep of her family home. Samantha decides she can’t run fast enough.
Wholly at odds with Samantha’s life, Clay Kincaid comes from a background of abuse and abandon. His childhood was the absence to Samantha’s abundance, defaced in ways she would never know. His penniless, underprivileged boyhood could have driven him to assume the behaviour of negligent role models, but he was the only thing that stood between his brothers and a life suffering more than they could handle. As it is, he did everything possible to break the pattern, and as such was dubbed ‘saint Clay’ because he does his utter best by those he loves as much for those he doesn’t know at all.
These two poles-apart people are seized by the grasp of insta-lust when a very sober Clay finds a very drunken, homeless, money-less, loose-tongued Samantha in his bar, sampling his most shamelessly-named drinks. Before he knows it, he’s not just taking responsibility for the polished woman unsuited to his working-class environment, he’s employing her at his less-than upmarket establishment and keeping her up at his apartment. Because, as we know, saint Clay can’t quite turn a blind eye to someone in need. As is the usual however with a horrid background, Clay is the jaded, non-romantic, emotionally cut-off hero who doesn’t quite believe he’s worth more than his beginnings, even if his love interest strongly decides otherwise.
Erika Wilde and Carly Phillips partner up to give us the Dirty Sexy series. I have twelve books in my Kindle library by Carly Phillips (of which I’ve read close to zero) and five books by Erika Wilde (of which I can declare I’ve actually read the colossal minimum of zero) - all down to my turtle-friendly, energy-limited reading pace, not an aversion to either creator. So while I don’t know the style or substance of Wilde’s particular writing predilections, I do know, from my very limited Phillips experience, that she likes her heroes alpha and dominant, her heroines credulous but independent, and a raging case of instant attraction buoyed by heaps of sexual attraction and heady smut. All of which was achieved with Dirty Sexy Saint too.
Compared to my one and only read from Carly Phillips, I did enjoy this co-written piece. We’ve got the dirty-talking, dirty-minded alpha who keeps it crude and smutty in the bedroom and non-committal, understated but selfless outside of it. The best way I can describe Clay is precisely how the title does; a dirty, sexy saint but a gentle, gruff giant sits flush under the fleshalbeit one who’s exceptionally suppressive, even as he tries to be for others what he’d wished had been within reach for himself growing up.
We have a heroine entering the work force at 26, which becomes the start of many firsts for her. I loved the representation in this because the general consensus is to accept linear, age-appropriate, time-appropriate paths when it’s realistically true-to-life to say we come from different lifestyles and experience any variety of coming-of-age when the cards fall, so to speak. In that sense, it’s the beginning of a becoming for a lady who grew up flush to her neck in privilege.
Samantha is wilful enough to want a lot more from life than settling for less than what she’s worth. A time to create a life away from the Jamieson name and away from the role of a well-worked, pliant daughter. She wants, or more appropriately, is uncompromisingly insistent on a life where every decision won’t be made for her. In other words, independence over tradition looks a much greener pasture.
Even though she very quickly becomes an employee for Clay, I appreciated that Samantha didn’t become passive in the role of bar waitress for the sake of remaining with a man she was falling for. After talking a game of wanting her own independence, I was happy to see that once she had established he dream, she didn’t imperil that dream in a 'is it him or your dream' conflict. And just as luck (or an orchestrated plot) would have it, she gets a man who’s a different make, a different look and a different touch altogether. Clay isn’t upscale gracious or preeningly polite and she wants a dark alpha taste of a man who looks like a tall drink that could seamlessly fit into his beverage menu.
As aforementioned, I did have fun have with this read, but it didn’t meet the mark of establishing a better, believably-built connection between our main couple. It also didn’t quite meet the title of a ‘great read’. The authors pepper this romance with radioactive levels of lust and desire, which wouldn’t have been an issue with me had the emotional connection risen to the challenge. But in the author’s defense, the premise does boast an erotic scene that dares to entice with sin and seduction - achieved, but if a narrative also aims to include some nuance of emotional intimacy, the expectation is for it to be felt, even if not developed in its entirety. The authors did make an effort at a deeper connection but (as a personal opinion) it was without success. As an erotic romance, I anticipated a fine spread of impropriety, burrowing bedroom eyes and bustling bedroom indecency - full marks to the authors for supplying the heat levels, but the level or style of risque wasn’t unlike anything I’ve ever read before either.
I adore instant chemistry. In fact, I love a steamy meet-cute, but I also struggle with immediate chemistry, because when it’s expedited, the result is often a partnership that feels more feigned than it does real. The heroine had decided that she was in it for keeps after only a few days, and the hero could only exercise his vulnerability with dominant bedroom displays. If the time was taken to level out their connection rather than speed-walking its way through, I definitely would have enjoyed it more. The sexual tension was a livewire but the emotional connection was harder to chase. I was interested but I wasn’t quite emotionally pulled in...but the question I'm pondering is, did i need to be?
There’s nothing particularly unlikeable about this story, but again, it isn’t unlike anything I’ve read before. I found myself traversing the same fundamental clichés that host what felt like a pseudo-relationship as opposed to authenticating a bona fide love link. Bizarre as this might sound the clichés in this book were a bit too cliché for me. I did however enjoy the interaction between Clay and Samantha, whether it be light and seemingly trivial or just tuning into their chemistry.
Normally I’m not a fan of the heroine who assumes the persisting role of ‘the chaser’ to the hero’s ‘the chased’, it's a power balance that plays to one MC's favour by granting them the role of ascendancy, but neither does the heroine push too hard, and despite the hero fighting his own feelings the whole way through as we wait for him to come to that realisation, Samantha again doesn’t lay it on uncomfortably thick. The author makes it clear that both the hero and heroine care strongly for the other, even if those thoughts are shuttered behind mindful doors, away from each other and perhaps even themselves. The depth of character wasn't quite there for me however. While I say that, it is quite amusing to watch Clay resist, even thought it’s clear that, while he’d hide like a squirrel rather than face the incoming bait of seductive Samantha, every man has his wilting point.
Denial is a well-preferred flavour and dominance is the unadorned language of non-love behind bedroom doors for Clay. While Clay grew up with nothing, his recent hire grew up with everything but the rough-around-the-edges guy gets the cream and the gourmet cupcake in this co-authored romance. I confess with open verity that a fine spread of smut was my quasi-pursuit but if your endgame is semi-synonymous with my own, you’ll enjoy this fish-out-of-water, riches-to-rags romance where a gruff Samaritan pushed past adversity for a second life, matched with a privileged-to-poor woman who’s now desperate to land a life of her own.

E X T R A_T H O U G H T S
1) This story is told in dual POV, which was nice to get back into. While the POVs are generally easy to tell apart, there was one scene, near the end, post-primitive fornication, after Clay finally opens up about his past, where his POV slides into Samantha’s. Just wanted to point out that it can be really confusing when perspectives change without notice.
2) The authors build up a picture and an interest for the other two Kincaid brothers. I have to say though, I’m so glad I got Clay’s story because I honestly don’t know if I could have handled the womaniser that is Mason Kincaid. I really feel sorry for Katrina because I have no idea how she’ll tame their nymphomanic middle brother. I know most readers will love this though, but I personally struggle with the ‘girl sitting on the sidelines waiting for the guy to notice her’ trope.
3) I think establishing a reason for a couple to break up only really works when they have something more solid to play with, which makes that conflict feel more legitimised because that ‘thing’ tests the mettle of what has been built, fragile or otherwise. Much as Samantha and Clay were smitten (without obvious displays) they didn’t communicate the important things very well, and the uncertainty about where they stood always felt like ‘that thing never discussed’.
4) Clay was on to something when he says that Samantha’s too naive and too trusting, and I have to admit that, sheltered or not, intoxicated or not, it was a bit bizarre of her to lunge at him as she has a breakdown, not just thinking but believing he’ll take care of her. I think that took the naivete a tad far when most everybody has an instinct to protect themselves in foreign company. Just my humble thoughts.
5) Also, in Clay's POV, he wears out the term ‘crack wh***’ a lot.

Oh how I like surprises like these! I honestly completely forgot I had requested this book to review, and even worse, I had forgotten it was on my kindle for a little while now.
Then one night of insomnia, I was restless trying to find sleep and had just finished a Kristen Ashley reread. And you know how empty you can feel after a great comfort read. Right? The book hangover thing? Yes. That.
So anyway, I got up, grabbed my kindle at one in the morning and started browsing titles. It was then that Clay Kincaid grabbed my eye. "Dirty Sexy Saint" felt like the perfect read to relax before bed.
And boy, how Mister Kincaid delivered. Relaxed? It is not the term I would use to describe the way I felt reading Dirty Sexy Saint.
Turn on, horny, in lust and excited? Yes. All these apply.
Dirty Sexy Saint tells the story of Clay Kincaid, he owns a bar but is known to be a good samaritan. Always helping others in need, he just had a rough upbringing and was given a helping hand many years before and feels like it’s his duty or his way to pay forward now.
One night stumbles in his bar, young, clueless and lost Samantha Jamieson. Her behavior and look scream trouble but Clay cannot turn off his basic need to help lost souls, nor can he explains why he feels drawn to this young woman.
Samantha, drunk and with no place to go, is going to benefit more than Saint Clay’s helping hand.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Clay and Samantha, and when at first I thought I would hate the heroine, I ended up loving her. She comes from a rich family and basically never accomplished anything in her life, so I expected her to stay the perfect clueless girl that stumbled in Clay’s bar that night. But not at all. She grew up a pair of lady balls, and cleaned up her act.
Clay Kincaid was your typical sexy and confident alpha male, he has a bit of mystery surrounding him and you can tell right off the bat he is a tormented soul.
As I said the chemistry between them both was palpable and I enjoyed the chase and the banter. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde made a really great job with a ‘hate-to-love-you’ trope, and turned up the heat hundreds of levels UP with some smoking hot sex scenes. If you enjoy a bit of dirty talk in your steamy reads, then rest assured they got this particular side covered in spades.
All in all, Dirty Sexy Saint was the perfect easy and sexy read, it delivered a good plot and solid characters with good honest chemistry and feelings. Oh how I like surprises like these! I honestly completely forgot I had requested this book to review, and even worse, I had forgotten it was on my kindle for a little while now.
Then one night of insomnia, I was restless trying to find sleep and had just finished a Kristen Ashley reread. And you know how empty you can feel after a great comfort read. Right? The book hangover thing? Yes. That.
So anyway, I got up, grabbed my kindle at one in the morning and started browsing titles. It was then that Clay Kincaid grabbed my eye. "Dirty Sexy Saint" felt like the perfect read to relax before bed.
And boy, how Mister Kincaid delivered. Relaxed? It is not the term I would use to describe the way I felt reading Dirty Sexy Saint.
Turn on, horny, in lust and excited? Yes. All these apply.
Dirty Sexy Saint tells the story of Clay Kincaid, he owns a bar but is known to be a good samaritan. Always helping others in need, he just had a rough upbringing and was given a helping hand many years before and feels like it’s his duty or his way to pay forward now.
One night stumbles in his bar, young, clueless and lost Samantha Jamieson. Her behavior and look scream trouble but Clay cannot turn off his basic need to help lost souls, nor can he explains why he feels drawn to this young woman.
Samantha, drunk and with no place to go, is going to benefit more than Saint Clay’s helping hand.
I really enjoyed the chemistry between Clay and Samantha, and when at first I thought I would hate the heroine, I ended up loving her. She comes from a rich family and basically never accomplished anything in her life, so I expected her to stay the perfect clueless girl that stumbled in Clay’s bar that night. But not at all. She grew up a pair of lady balls, and cleaned up her act.
Clay Kincaid was your typical sexy and confident alpha male, he has a bit of mystery surrounding him and you can tell right off the bat he is a tormented soul.
As I said the chemistry between them both was palpable and I enjoyed the chase and the banter. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde made a really great job with a ‘hate-to-love-you’ trope, and turned up the heat hundreds of levels UP with some smoking hot sex scenes. If you enjoy a bit of dirty talk in your steamy reads, then rest assured they got this particular side covered in spades.
All in all, Dirty Sexy Saint was the perfect easy and sexy read, it delivered a good plot and solid characters with good honest chemistry and feelings. I cannot wait for book 2 in this series, as we were introduced to Clay’s two other brothers, one being a tattoo artist with man-whores ways, the second—younger one,being a cop on top of a great serious guy.

Little rich girl runs away to make a stand against rich mean daddy who wants to force her into an arranged marriage.
Gets blackout drunk at bar owned by hot guy who's mother was a crack whore (the term they use over and over) and he had to raise his younger brothers.
He lets her stay at his apartment, has her be waitress at his bar, buys her clothes, and then a whole pastry chef ensemble because that is her dream job.
Guy tries to stay away from her because he is not good enough and likes rough kinky sex. She gives him a blowjob and they have missionary sex in his office. He's a kink master, folks.
A blip of danger, which causes girl to sacrifice her hopes and dreams for guy, while a completely forced storyline of mean daddy and threatening arranged marriage dude have a complete turn around.
This was pretty uninspiring with a completely predictable, took every generic NA and contemporary romance plot point.
I see these authors are decently popular and I have some other freebies downloaded from them, I hope they break away from this ones color by numbers format.

Dirty Sexy Saint!!!! So, the title alone, aptly titled Dirty Sexy Saint by Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde brilliantly and perfectly suits this book. I would have never imagine that those three words could basically describe this book but it does. Well, we aren't talking about a Holy Man of the Cloth kind of Saint but a man who has the heart of a Saint but who can easily have you begging to be a sinner. And ladies, let's just say this man will have you confessing your dirty thoughts in no time.
Dirty Sexy Saint is the very first book that I have read from both authors but after reading this book, I am definitely going to check out more of their works. So what is Dirty Sexy Saint about? Well, the title alone is given but this book was so much more. It is a story layered with passion, humor, sexiness, heart, hope, second chances, and lots of dirty steamy moments!!!!!

So if you are looking for a story that was fast paced and incorporated themes of hope, love, family and second chances, then I highly recommend you to read Dirty Sexy Saint. I seriously can't wait for Mason Kincaid's story and what the authors have in store for this bad boy.

Samantha's parents want her to marry a man whom she doesn't love. It's all about keeping the business in the family. Samantha refuses to marry the man she doesn't love. Her parents let her know if she doesn't do this and leaves they will cut he off. Samantha not really caring what they do ditches her phone and her car and plants her ass on a bar stool and gets drunk. When it's time to close out her tab her credit card is declined. The owner of the bar can't send this drunk woman any where with a good conscience so he takes her to his apartment to let her sleep it off.
Clay owns the bar. He's known as a saint for taking in strays and helping out those that need help. Him and his brothers have had a rough past and Clay is the responsible one in the family. He doesn't know what to think about the sexy uptown girl in his apartment. He thinks she won't last as a waitress in his bar. She will probably run back home to daddy in a few days anyway so why not let her stay and give her a job.
I loved that Clay was the one trying to stay clear of Samantha's sexual advances. The chemistry between these two was thick. Clay knows how he likes rough sex and this woman probably only knows one way to have sex and that's not his style. When Clay finally couldn't take it any more and they got together holy shit it was smoking hot!!! Whew! Bring out the fans! I'll never eat a lemon cupcake again with out thinking about the dirty sexy Clay!! lol

This is a nice easy hot sexy read.
Her family is incredibly rich and so Samantha Jamieson has lived a very privileged life, everything has been given to her and apparently that includes a husband, a wedding and her future all laid out exactly as her parents want but they never stopped to consider that it might not be what Samantha wants.
For the first time in her life she says no and walks away from her life and she's just lucky that she walks into Clay Kincaid's bar.
Clay's early life has been the complete opposite of Samantha's but someone took a chance on him and gave him a break and he tries to repay the favour whenever he can and that's where the Saint in the title comes from.
This is a nice read I liked both Clay and Samantha plus Mason, Levi and Katrina, it's an easy read going exactly as expected, no surprises or shocks but it's hot.

I started reading Dirty Sexy Sinner while back. I remember I like it. So when I picked up Dirty Sexy Saint, I thinkmy taste is evolving. Despite of all the positive reviews regarding this book, I found myself bored too death.
The plot is standar. Nothing new nor exciting happens. No drama/ twist. The insta lust is happening way too fast. I do not get he chemistry/ vulnerable connection between the characters.
Overall I am disappointed. Moving on to the next book....

A 5* read. As part of my membership to Romance Read of the Month Club, I received a notification of a new release from two of their featured authors. It was my first book by authors Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde, but for sure I'll check their other work.
Dirty Sexy Saint is the story of Samantha Jamieson alias Cupcake an heiress running from her controlling parents & Clay Kincaid alias Saint Clay a bar owner, two people from totally different backgrounds that shouldn't be together.
Clay was controlled and guarded, emotionally and physically and wasn’t comfortable opening up to others. His dark and trouble past was haunted him. He kept his secrets and memories and the extent of his pain on tight lockdown. His terrible experiences while growing up during his childhood had molted him into the man he was today. Clay tried to keep Samantha at a distance. But Samantha wasn’t afraid to go after what she desired and wanted. And she wanted Clay badly.
There were so many things to love about Clay. He was kind, generous, caring and most of all a selfless human being. Clay was also all alpha when it came to Samantha. He was possessive, protective and territorial and made her feel loved.
Samantha… What’s not to love about her? She was the epitome of a great heroine. She was gorgeous, fun, smart, and strong with a great personality and knew from the start what she was getting herself in to. I simply adored her.
They were good together, and good for each other. Their love scenes were scorching hot and their connection was intense.
This book was an amazing read from start to finish and I can't wait for the next one, Mason and Katrina’s story.

Samantha Jamieson is a quintessential rich girl. She grew up having the best of everything and never having to work to have it. Her sheltered life consisted of private schools, parties and becoming "groomed" for the life her parents want for her to have. It revolved around making sure that the family company stayed IN the family, and that means Samantha has to marry someone her father deems capable of taking over Jamieson Global. But when Samantha actually HEARS her father having the "marriage" talk with the man she has been seeing (and doesn't love), she finally decides she has had enough of her life being dictated by her parents wants/needs and leaves. With no where to go, she ends up on the other side of town in a popular bar, Kincaid's.

4 'Eat my cupcake' Stars!
Yes, I decided to finally read Dirty Sexy Saint because Passionflix's movie adaptation is releasing next week and I am pretty excited about it! Actually, I really enjoyed the book and meeting these characters. Clay and Samantha have mindblowing chemistry and I loved reading their journey (including the past and present). I also loved the rest of the crew and I can't wait to read the other books in the series because I loved Mason and Levi too! These Kincaid brothers sure sound yummy and I can't wait for more (especially seeing them come to life in a movie!).

This is the story of Samantha and Clay. I have to say that this book wasn't exactly what I was expecting but that wasn't a bad thing. The story is nice and the plot is good. The beginning of the book felt kind of slow but after Chapter 5 everything started to make sense.
Samantha has a dream but her parents don't agree with it. So, she run away in order to make her dream come true. I liked Samantha! Although she comes from a very rich family, she doesn't hesitate to try something totally different and she takes full responsibility of her life! I also liked her positive attitude to everything!
Clay had a difficult life as a child but he is in a good place now. He is the owner of the bar, his nickname is Saint Clay and he has two very interesting brothers. I liked him too. Their interactions were good! They were hot but there was something missing among them. Something that I cannot exactly explain it...But that was the reason that 1.5 stars were deducted.
The end of the book was also really nice! There was also an epilogue and I love epilogues!!!!!
This is the first book of the trilogy and the next one is about Mason. I have to confess that I'd love to read about Mason. He is so intense! He definitely has my attention already!

This is the story of Samantha and Clay. I have to say that this book wasn't exactly what I was expecting but that wasn't a bad thing. The story is nice and the plot is good. The beginning of the book felt kind of slow but after Chapter 5 everything started to make sense.
Samantha has a dream but her parents don't agree with it. So, she run away in order to make her dream come true. I liked Samantha! Although she comes from a very rich family, she doesn't hesitate to try something totally different and she takes full responsibility of her life! I also liked her positive attitude to everything!
Clay had a difficult life as a child but he is in a good place now. He is the owner of the bar, his nickname is Saint Clay and he has two very interesting brothers. I liked him too. Being a big fan of both Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde, I was more than a little excited when they announced they teaming up for a new series. Dirty, Sexy Saint is the first book in this series and it is flipping fantastic! I love when characters are on opposite end of the social spectrum, when one has preconceived notions of the other one and when the attraction is so thick from the moment they meet that you can feel it engulfing you as you read. Fun, sexy, entertaining and with just enough drama to make it interesting but not so much as to drag the story down Dirty, Sexy Saint is a book you should be reading right now.
Rather than be shackled in a loveless marriage to a man her parents feel are a good match, socialite Samantha Jamieson leaves her family's home and heads straight into a whole new world. Getting drunk in a bar on the wrong side of town probably wasn't her best idea, but bar owner Clay "Saint" Kincaid knows he can't let the "Cupcake" out of his sight for fear she'll end up with someone less honorable than him and given his dirty thoughts he knows that's a real possibility.
There was much I loved about this story including the hard working bar owner who really didn't need to work but did so as a way of honoring the man who taught him so much about life, responsibility and giving back to others less fortunate. Given his horrendous childhood and teen years, Clay could have ended up a criminal or worse than that dead but instead he made a life not only for himself but for his two younger brothers as well. On the other hand you have Samantha who has been handed everything on a silver platter her whole life but the older she gets she realizes she wants her own life, her own career and most of all she wants to love a man who will lover her back fiercely. I admired her for chucking everything even knowing life would not be easy and while there is no doubt she got lucky finding Clay, she proved from day one that she was made of sterner stuff than anyone gave her credit for and she was intent on paying her own way and making something of her life on her own. I really admired her grit and determination and respect that while she allowed Clay to help her she also paid him back as soon as she could. I also loved that despite her upbringing and the prejudices forced upon her by her parents, Samantha didn't look down on anyone she met and instead embraced her new friends and her situation head on.
The banter and flirting between them was so sexy and even when Clay was trying to dissuade her advances it only turned her on more which really was quite humorous in that it only made Clay's want for her more. I love that she forced the physical contact between them (not like in a bad way but made it hard for him to say no) and that she not only got everything she wanted out of the experience but she gave as good as she got. Not going to lie, I could have used a cigarette or two after their scenes and I don't smoke!
From beginning to end, I loved everything about this book but especially how truly selfless both of these characters were proving just how right they were for one another. Fun and flirty but also dirty and raunchy with some powerful emotions as well, Dirty Sexy Saint is a well written and scintillating romance.

I didn't like this one much. It's probably me (I think I'm getting too picky) but the characters seemed one-dimensional. It was a case of insta-lust, which I'm fine with but it has to be done right and they can't always be thinking about sex. I will lose interest in a book fast if that's all the H and h are interested in. There has to be some story and some character development. I just didn't find it in Dirty Sexy Saint. Or maybe the hype was too much? I'm not sure. Either way this was not my cup of tea.

Der Schreibstil hat mir so gut gefallen, aber dann waren da andererseits häufig Wörter in den Sätzen, die ich NOCH NIE gehört habe. Die Geschichte an sich, war eben typisch für einen Erotikroman und nichts besonderes. Genauso wie das Ende. Aber ich fand’s trotzdem nicht schlecht und super für zwischendurch 💁🏼

This is the story of Clay “Saint” Kincaid and Samantha “Cupcake” Jamieson. Clay is a bar owner with a lot of trauma in his past. His childhood was filled with emotional and physical abuse, neglect, parentification, and fear. Samantha is an heiress to a investment empire. Her every decision is determined by her parents, and only for the benefit of appearances. She finally draws the line when she discovers her boyfriend of 8 months, and her father are treating their relationship as a business transaction. The transaction ending with marriage to his daughter, and keys to the empire. Samantha in a loveless marriage, and her hubby CEO of the Jamieson Investments. Samantha decides she has had enough. She is going to walk out of the sheltered, pampered and the only life she has ever known. Her father makes it very clear...walk out and you are cut off entirely. Without a look back Samantha leaves….without money, place to go, or plan. What she does leave with is the knowledge her parents think she will come crawling back, and her puppet strings will be back in their hands by the end of the week. She is determined to prove them wrong...but first she must come up with a plan. Well after ditching her very expensive car...that no doubt her father will be tracking...she calls for a cab. Her first decision after freedom is obvious….a bar.lol. The cab driver knows just the place...Kincaid’s….
My thoughts:
I originally gave this book a 3, but once I got started writing this review….Im bumping it to a 4. There was a lot to enjoy here. I appreciated both the characters. Clay raised and protected his brothers from some really fu..ed up stuff, gave people second chances, and helped people when they really needed a hand. Not to mention his perseverance and ability to overcome adversity. He also was sexy, alpha, and sweet...all rolled up into a great book boyfriend. Samantha is likeable as well. She has gumption and moxy...and I loved her determination. I also appreciated that even though she was naive because of her privileged upbringing she was not judgmental of others. The story and writing were superb...I'm already a big fan of Phillips, but now im going to be researching Erika Wilde. This was one STEAMY read, and all I can say is….Clay is quite the sinner in the bedroom...or office...or….well...hopefully get my drift.
My only criticism about this book is...I wanted more banter between the characters and less angst.
As far as continuing in the series...I just ordered the second book when I woke up this morning. Lol. I REALLY hope its Mason’s story...I didn’t even stop to look.

Hmmm, this was an unexpectedly enjoyable read. Although the jury is still out on how much I like Samantha--I like my ladies to be kickass career ladies and she wasn't. She was in her mid-twenties and was still dependent on her parents. That did not appeal to me at all.
But other than that, this was a good read. I loved Clay! He was a self-made man and I gobbled all that up. Sooo hot! I actually loved the chemistry and all that attraction between him and Samantha. Feels, baby, feels! The only regret I have about this book was that it was a bit shorter than my usual.
In the end though, Samantha was able to redeem herself. A bit. Maybe she was finally growing up. And Clay was his usual hot self with his self-assurance and for standing up to her family. More hotness points for this man! This was indeed a quick, good book!

Dirty Sexy Saint is the first book in a three book series which promises to bring some hot sexy fun into your life. This is my first time reading these two Authors, and this is also the first time they wrote together, and what a great co-writing debut it was! The characters were easy to fall for and the writing was wonderful and surprisingly fluid for it being two people, I will definitely be reading more books written by these two talented ladies.
Samantha Jamieson is a sweet yet extremely wealthy heir to her father who happens to be the owner of a very successful investment firm, who has nothing but business and money on his mind. He makes this very clear by pushing away his only daughter through extortion. A move which, in turn shoves her into the den of the lion, a very sweet lion, but a lion nonetheless.
"You’re playing with the hottest kind of fire there is, Cupcake.”
Clay Kincaid or Saint Clay as his family and friends call him, is the extremely hot bar owner of Kincaid’s, which is right where Samantha ends up after she ran away from her father’s deceit. She ditched her car and cell phone and the only thing worth anything was her black AMEX which of course, gets declined because daddy cut her off. The next thing you know, Samantha is wasted drunk with nowhere to go, and this is where the Saint in Clay’s name comes from.
"Thank you for taking care of me.”
Samantha wakes up in Clay’s apartment, which just happens to be right above the bar. And she soon figures out that not only did he take care of this crazy stranger girl, but he also cleaned her up after her violent throw up attack in his bathroom, and showered her and changed her and gave her a bed to sleep in. All while being a complete gentleman! This intrigues Samantha, and this is also where the fun begins. Because the way that Clay was feeling when he saw her sitting at his bar the night before was anything but gentlemanly.
"He left no part of her untouched. Physically, he owned her. Emotionally, he felt so right, so much a part of her. So inevitable.”
I’m not going to go any further into the story because it’s seriously so sexy and cute and fun, that you need to read it for yourself. It’s not too long of a book, around 2900 location % for kindle and about 265 pages approximately. In my opinion it’s the perfect length for a steamy, entertaining read.
The characters are amazing! Clay is such an alpha male, but he would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and hot damn he’s such a dreamboat! Samantha was great, not whiny or typical at all. She actually fits perfectly into “don’t judge a book by its cover” because she isn’t the rich snob you would think she is. Trust me, you will fall in love with both of them. You also get to meet Clay’s brothers, who are totally different than him in different ways, and the next two books in the series will be their stories, and I’m so excited to devour those as well. And Katrina! Her part wasn’t huge in this book, but I really liked her and hoping to see her as well *wink-wink* Author ladies.
I truly believe this is a great start to an amazing series, and I’m so glad that I gave these Authors a try, because I became an instant fan. Go 1-Click!!!

This was HAWT! Loved both the Clay and Samantha, the H and h in this story. They were both strong, caring people, it wasn’t hard to root for them! Their story is sweet, funny, a little dark but also had some really lighthearted moments too. It was a love story between two opposites, people from completely different walks of life that somehow just click. Each one offering just what the other half needs. I loved their instant attraction, the instant emotional connection and even though there was some pushing away by the Clay (in the beginning) and then that out of the blue stunt Samantha pulls towards the end, I still loved story.
I did feel that both times that drama was introduced, it was really in your face and immediate, yet resolved with little to no fuss. That was kind of weird but I was just happy to see them getting their HEA that it didn’t bother me at all.
There are also some really great secondary characters that we get in later installments (Yay!) I’m definitely interested in Levi, the straight-edge younger brother, Tara the bartender and I loved Katrina. I’m bummed that Mason, the other Kincaid brother turned out to be such a blatant man-whore! I don’t expect my H’s to be pure as the driven snow but I draw the line at having their OW thrown in my face and that’s what Mason does to his h (Katrina) for years. Clay catches Mason screwing some random chick in his bar bathroom and Katrina sees it all and it made me sad and angry to think she’s been dealing with this crap for years! Nope, I’ll need some huge reliable confirmation that he redeems himself before I touch his book. Which sucks because it’s book two so I’ll have to skip it and move to Levi’s (#3) instead

When I started Dirty Sexy Saint I really should have DNF it, the only thing that stopped me was I didn't want my 2nd book of the New Year on that shelf. I didn't like Samantha at all but I figured I would try anyway and see if it would improve with the intro of Clay. Honestly he was no thrill either so that hurt my enjoyment of the book even more. The whole story I thought was ridiculous and I never felt any connection between the two. I probably won't continue this series but if I did read another book it would probably be Mason the middle brother.

Beware of Spoilers!
Ok, heres the thing….I loved Clay! He was protective, sweet, hard working and hot.
However, I DID NOT LIKE Samantha because she was a spoilt brat. I have read good romances about opposites and rich heroines but something about Samantha rubbed me up the wrong way. I DNF’d (before chapter 5) this book because of the following:
>Samantha gets drunk after running away from home with no money/car/phone/clothes – this is a problem for me because immediately I’m thinking she’s stupid. NOT for running away from home (which she should have done years ago!) but for not being safe. Samantha has no excuse because she has access to money and she could have planned this better. What kind of message does this give to women?
>Samantha then has to stay in the bar owner’s apartment overnight because she didn’t have the foresight to book a hotel room before her father cut her off…or even withdraw some cash from the ATM
>Samantha then wakes up the following morning, eats the breakfast that Clay makes for her and then proceeds to ask him if she could live with him and have a job!!!!! Samantha needs to wake up and realise how selfish she is being here
>Samantha then kisses/makes out with Clay after he begrudgingly says yes. This has strong connotations of Samantha prostituting herself for a job and a place to live…uhm no

Clay is the product of a troubled/abusive childhood and he is still dealing with the repercussions/internal damaged its left. There's just something about a hero who feels that he is unworthy of love, kindness, affection and intimacy. It just pulls at the heart strings. Especially, when the hero is betrayed by the one person in his past that was supposed to be in his corner no matter what. If a person is never given love or shown affection, how can he or she ever share those feeling with anyone else?
So, when the Saint spots his cupcake a really learning curve begins. Samantha Jamieson aka Cupcake is running from her own demons as well. If Saint Clay is from the side of the tracks then Samantha couldn't be more right. Heiress to Jamieson fortune she is expected to act and behave exactly as she's told. Marry the germophobe that daddy wants, bridle her tongue and live as a virtual prisoner for the rest of her unhappy life. Samantha wasn't willing to do that to herself and once she made that decision her real life began.
What makes this a good read? Both characters are really relatable and well developed. It is easy to imagine Kincaid' s as any neighborhood pub that you might just walk into and find a 'Clay' behind the bar. There's is also an abundance of secondary characters that keeps the reader glued to the story.

Marry the germophobe that daddy wants, bridle her tongue and live as a virtual prisoner for the rest of her unhappy life. Samantha wasn't willing to do that to herself and once she made that decision her real life began.
What makes this a good read? Both characters are really relatable and well developed. It is easy to imagine Kincaid' s as any neighborhood pub that you might just walk into and find a 'Clay' behind the bar. There's is also an abundance of secondary characters that keeps the reader glued to the story.
