Niels Vink and Sander Palm use insights from the behavioral sciences to explain why people often act against their own interests. As behavioral experts, they explore how you can nudge your behavior for a healthy lifestyle. With personal and recognizable real-life examples, they discuss the scientific research underlying these behaviors and provide strategies for your daily life. This book contains 46 nudges you can use to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
I had slightly different expectations, I guess I hoped the book would be very specific on which behaviour to do when, but I understand that was a far-fetched misconception.
Once I accepted the book for what and how it is, I really enjoyed it. I connected with the authors and could easily picture myself in their examples. They keep you engaged by giving their own real-life examples, asking you to test yourself, and/or, what is most intersting to me, describing researches from the past that exhibited certain behaviour correlations.
As someone who's really not into reading self-help books, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's even remotely intersted in improving self. I just hope I remember to apply in my life what I've learned!
