Today, Ure is very popular with British female teenage readers with novels such as Shrinking Violet, Family Fan Club and Passion Flower.
Ure has also translated Danish writer Sven Hassel's WWII novels to English.
This book changed my life. I was 10 years old and had had no exposure to LGBT issues previously. Through these characters, I experienced the immense pain and cruelty caused by ignorance and intolerance. This book taught me the importance of being kind to people who are different, even if we don't understand them.
