Book #3 in the Mysteries of Martha's Vineyard series. This is a great series. Priscilla inherited a cottage and light house in Martha's Vineyard. While trying to update and renovate the cottage she finds interesting items and secrets that relate to her family and the surrounding community.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It was definitely different than the other 2 that I have rad in this series. Gerald had asked Priscilla to make a quilt which she did and he loved it. It seems that he is getting closer to her. In this book it was a missing person that she help find, at one part the police would not listen to her, so she set out to do what she wanted on her but she did call and leave a message for Gerald but he could not answer his phone at that time though. She called a second time and was what seem to be screaming, as they were all ready on their way to the boats, I will stop here as any more would spoil it for some one else to read. But it is a very good book. I did cry at the end all because everyone was happy. I will keep reading this series.
Priscilla is at it again trying to solve another mystery and she is always one step ahead of the police. So I wonder are they too caught up in following procedures? A houseboat is floating around with no one on it and at first no one knows who was on it. The man wanted to be left alone and what better way, or so he thought, than to live on a houseboat. But someone knew where he was, and they kidnapped him. But why? Of course, Priscilla finds all the answers and saves the mans life. What annoys me is that she never listens. When Captain Gerald from the Coast Guard tells her "don't" she does. I can't decide if she is brave or stupid. In this case, she acted carelessly and almost died for it. But of course you know she won't because she is the main character in this series.
So...I've been trying to finish this book for almost a year. It's not because It's a hard or boring read. To be honest, I've been reading a lot of books that I'd rather be reading than this one. Does that sound mean? It wasn't meant to be.
Anyway, I enjoyed this book. The mystery was intriguing and kept me guessing. One thing I didn't like was that no one wanted to listen to Priscilla, even though she clearly knew what was going on, more than the police. Even more frustrating, was the fact that they didn't apologize for not listening.
Not as good as the first two books in the series. Fun plot but this partucular writer tried to turn Priscilla, the main character, into a badass. She inserts herself into an active police investigation repeatedly despite warnings. Engages in risky behavior including going after two much younger criminals all alone rather than waiting for the police. Priscilla is far too intelligent for this kind of behavior. I hope Ms. Adams doesn't write any more books for this series.

A pretty good Martha's Vineyard mystery. I liked it because just when you think she's figured out the mystery more clues arise and keep you guessing. The second part of the book was very intriguing with the thrill and turn of events but it was well worth the read. There were a few quotes the main character said that hit home to me, I can't recall what they are now but it was heartfelt.
I really did not enjoy this one, which seemed to be a Nancy Drew mystery. Perhaps I have grown from "cosy mysteries" to books with a little more involvement.
The story was fine, just didn’t grab me. A cozy mystery set in Martha’s Vineyards, from a Christian publishing company. Mild, gentle but just wasn’t right for my current reading needs.
This was a fun read. The cover and setting were gorgous. The mystery was intriguing, and the characters were likeable. The author kept me guessing until the end. Also, I enjoyed the bits about the quilt. I thought it was sweet. Now, I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
