Away from his family on the other side of the world, James sought a break from life his mundane day to day life and the frigid cold of a typical Bejing winter and dreamt of adventure.

On a particularly cold aftenoon, he decided he had had enough and needed a break, so drawing a line across Asia seaprating out the warmer climates he closed his eyes and stuck a finger on the map.

Not two weeks later James found himself boarding a plane for the short hop to Siem Reap, an ancient capital of the old Khmer empire and a road trip around the small southeast asian country.

Unaccustomed to backpacking and solo travel, James faithfully recorded his thoughts and feelings as he put himself entirely out of his comfort zone. What he wrote turned out to be an eyeopening and eductional experience, one that changed him, his attitudes and his life forever.
