The Charon/McIntosh clan is your typical dysfunctional family. They also happen to be four of the world’s best assassins.
In this adventure, Valerie’s past continues to haunt her. A man she had always considered a friend inexplicably has turned into her most dangerous enemy. With the unique skills set of her new foe, even her husband and the twins may not be enough to protect her this time.
Rod Pennington writes a mixed bag of suspense stories filled with quirky characters, rapid-fire dialogue and whiplash inducing plot shifts. With his off-beat sense of humor and original storylines that do not fit comfortably into any established genre, he has developed a hard-core group of fans.
In addition to fiction, Pennington has either sold or has had optioned seven screenplays and also writes regularly in national publications such as the Wall Street Journal.

Stand Alone Books Indweller "It is not often you stumble across a new and original character that immediately grabs your attention. This is the case with Gabriel Indweller. A Black ops veteran inadvertently forced into a state of total enlightenment by a botch government experiment, he is now like an Old Testament Archangel with a James Bond style license to kill."

Better Choices "Despite dealing with the serious topics of divorce, complicated family relationships and death, this is a lighthearted and life-affirming story full of funny and interesting characters."
Enjoyable installment of this series, to truly get everything it has to offer, read the 3 previous books. Everyone is settling in place within the new family unit for the most part, although as the story gets going we find out not everything is hunky dory with decisions the twins have made. This episode is about someone from Valerie's past and the threats he has made against her and how they take care of that threat leading to the action we have come to know from these books. Lots of action and technology in the espionage world.
Short, slightly repetitive if you have read the earlier of the series but if you have not it includes all the backstory you 'need' to follow the plot. In contrast to the others this one has A Point and, I expect, the future story line will pivot on this point. I like that a lot. I liked this book a lot. I am not Olivia's biggest fan but I think now I could be, if she "gets the point". The point bring that its time to grow up basically. Aside from that.... this was a rather sweet story without the annoyance I get from Olivia. Even when heads rolled it had a feel good aspect the other books didn't. I almost didn't read this one but now am very glad I did. No plot hints. It must be each reader's experience and chance to figure out the puzzle of who what where when why.
This is another fun Charon family adventure. As always, there is a lot of action, witty dialogue and fun surprises at the end. Frank Murphy is a great new bad guy; it was really hard not to like him though. He had some great gadgets that made for some wonderful scenes. Olivia and Master Roshi are my favorite and are great for laughs throughout the book. There are a couple new characters that I look forward to seeing more of in the future also. This family is a bit crazy but they add up to an awesome combition of characters I never get tired of reading about their adventures.
