Just Good Friends

It's Stephany and Max's first holiday together in Italy and they are staying at the flat of Stephany's friend, Carlos. Max is a little jealous of Carlos and Carlos's wife is certainly not happy to see Stephany. It's the worst book I've ever read!! I had to read it for my english class, though, there was no way in earth I'd read this for pleasure!! The characters were all awful, the only one that I liked was Max. And I feel he was the victim of Stephanie and Carlo's twisted game. This books gives a terrible message about infidelity, saying doing it is okay and that if the other one finds out, you still can overcome it. Horrible book, I don't recommend it!

I’ve just finished reading this book and i love it.
The story of this book is about a couple (stephanie and max) who travel to italy for holiday. They stay at stephanie’s “good friend”s flat. During the holiday, stephanie hides and lies to max and she has an affair.
I still remember what max says. A good friend is someone who honest to you. And he can’t have a relationship with a women who he cant trust.
And thats true. Once lost, trust can’t be regained.

Nice story actually, I liked it. I would give this book 3.4 stars. The scenery of Italy was lovely and refreshing.
Hancock wrote in short sentences which made this one a light read. The writing was a bit bland though.
And oh boy, you start to despise Stephany more and more with every page you flip!

4 estrellas. La mejor lectura obligatoria que he leído nunca, me ha parecido súper entretenido e interesante, no me esperaba para nada una historia así y el culebrón me ha sorprendido. El nivel de inglés se entiende perfectamente y lo único que no me ha acabado ha sido el final, ya que me esperaba otra cosa muy diferente.

A. in my case, the answer is yes. I have hidden something to my mother, father, friends and even my girlfriend. But now it doesn't matter what I hid before. I know that I'm stubborn, so as is often the case with me, I don't want to show my tiredness to someone even if I'm exhausted.

What do you define as a real friend?
In my views, I think that a good relation ship means only that there is no trouble between each other. For example, they always smile or they are get along with each other. While, the real friend is different from the other. In my views, the real friend means they can consult with each other about everything without hiding something. Or, they can believe each other. That's why if one of them has a secret thing in his/her mind, he/she can tell the thing without hesitating.
5. In this story, there are two couples and they live in different countries, England and Italy. However, two of them have common things. One girlfriend who lives in England was a teacher for the other husbsnd who lives in Italy in the past. Even after they graduated from a school, they have an address each other. That's why they can meet whenever they want to see each other. One day, the couple who lives in England tried to visit the other couple's house that was in Italy. However, England's couple doesn't get married to, so Italy's wife has a little confused and been reluctant to welcome to them. Through visiting the house, they started to doubt their own relationship because two of the couples did everything with hiding. Finally... In my conclusion, I could confirm a real good friend and a weak point of friendship again.

1, For me, I just found that this small village "Genoa" in western Italy very interesting! I mean, it looks there is no secret that place!
2, The wine guy is a very very special character! He modified the happy ending to the opposite. If he didn't return Stephany's watch to them, then the secret will still be a secret, and maybe be a forever secret only between Carlo and Stephany. But the waiter at first just behave normal, and at the last minute, he become the main character!
3, This is my first time to read Penny Hancock's book and after that I also read his brief intro! She's an English teacher and work in Italy, things become interesting now! What will you do if you met with such case, from Stephany side and from Ruth side, author? I think each story comes from your life or your friend's life. So I'm more interested in that real one.
4, For children, I think it's very hard to keep a secret forever. But I think its also not easy for adults to keep. So the definition for "good friends" is whom you can tell your secret and of course he/she can keep your secret forever! By this criterion, I found maybe I don't have a "good friend", which is really a sad story for me. Maybe no one can listen to my story or I just don't trust them now. When you grown up, that's harder to find a real "good friend" for yourself, compared with the situation as you were a child and that's the world for adults!
5, In fact, I'm not sure there is really really pure friendship between a man and a woman. Come on, you have hormones! and maybe you just don't want to sleep with her/he right now, but doesn't mean that you don't want to. I think that's why when Stephany, our "bad" chief actress, kissed Carlo, then he responsed with sex. But as an adult, you have to control it. Control your hormones and control your life!
6, Maybe that's a good story, but not for me. I mean, it looks too simple, not like a really really special one, compared with the kite runner or gone girl.

b) I don't like the scene when Stephany went to the beach with Carlo. Their plan was to go to a festival .But she change a plan to go to the beach. I thought she wanted to be between she and Carlo. So she chose the beach on porpuse!! Then she kissed him and they made love. What a bad woman I thought.
5. I don't like the end of this story. I wanted know about the relatiponship between Carlo and Ruth. Because Ruth doesn't know the truth. She is poor woman. Because She didn't want Carlo to meet Stephany from the beginning because she worried about Stephany.In the end it happend which Ruth was afraid of . This is not happy end. So I thought Stephany will be sad and regret everything after she broke up with Max. But she didn't. I surprised. She was so bad woman !!

b)When i read this passage, i had some doubts that expression. I thought it is a little strange, and not truth, so I asked my friend who came from England. He said " it's true. Many English people are sick in a foreign country because they can't adapt to climates in foreign countries well.
5: This story was a little long for me, but I could finish reading. Now, I'm filled with a feeling of accomplishment. I don't like Stephany because she is not honest. Finally, she lost her dearest friends. I learned important thing from this book. It is that making good relationship is whether we can trust each other.
