Fire & Rescue Shifters #6

Firefighter Unicorn

Rate this book
Sarcastic. Short-tempered. Definitely not sparkly.

Paramedic and firefighter Hugh Argent is no one's idea of a unicorn, and he's careful to keep it that way. His life depends on hiding his secrets . . . and on never meeting his true mate.

Outcast. Unwanted. Untouchable.

Ivy would give anything to be touched, just once. But as a wyvern shifter, her skin is lethal even in human form. Targeted by a shifter crime boss for her deadly abilities, Ivy finds herself in trouble over her head . . . and pulled out of danger by a cranky, mysterious, and jaw-droppingly gorgeous firefighter. Literally pulled out of danger. For the first time in her life, someone can touch her . . .

Caught between protecting his secrets and protecting his mate, Hugh struggles not to reveal how Ivy penetrates all his spiky defenses. The more he gets to know this brave, fierce, infuriating woman, the more he longs to claim her. But a unicorn can only take a mate at a terrible cost . . .

Contains mature themes.

Hugh is a firefighter and he's a shifter like the rest of his team but most of his team have no idea what kind of shifter he is and he has to keep it that way. If people found out what he is, he might be hunted.

Ivy is a wyvern shifter and can't control her deadly venom. She can't touch anyone and no one can touch her because she could kill them or make them really sick. Her little sister who is disabled lives with her and she takes care of her as best she can.

When Hope, Ivy's little sister makes friends with people that are not what she thinks they are, Ivy finds herself in danger because the leader of these new friends wants Ivy to work for him. He isn't going to take no for an answer and Ivy finds herself and Hope in trouble. So when the shifter firefighter's come to their rescue, they don't care for Ivy because she has a bad reputation of hurting people with her venom. But Hope was hurt and Hugh, the paramedic with healing gifts helps Hope. But when Hugh and Ivy get a look at each other, they know they are mates and neither of them are really happy about that.

Hugh has a huge secret and there's a secret reason why he can never take a mate. So even though he feels the mate bond and is attracted to Ivy he knows he has to keep her at arms length for both of their sakes.

Hugh is a gruff, ill-tempered and always seems to be in a bad mood but that's mostly because he's always in pain from being around people. I'd be cranky too. You wouldn't think that Hugh and Ivy would make such a great couple but as this story unfolded, my heart broke for both of them. They've both has such hard lives but the end of this story was one of the best happy endings I've ever read. You can read this as a standalone but there are quite a few spoilers about all the different couples from the first few books so I would read this series in order.

I have loved every book in this series, and I swear they just keep getting better. Firefighter Unicorn was so good! I couldn't stop once I started reading this. It was exciting, heart breaking, nail-biting, sexy, funny, and so sweet. I loved every single page. Hugh was a fantastic hero, and I LOVED Ivy. Together they were magic. Definitely recommend this book (and entire series) to paranormal romance fans.

I had a rough start with this one. Ivy just wasn't for me (I knew she didn't have it easy but still) and it took me so long to warm up to her... I bet a reread might change that. Hugh was difficult as well but that's because the dealing with his unicorn was so damn inconsistent. Not from the it was told but in what we knew. That changed from chapter to chapter and drove me nuts. All in all, I really liked this and now I'm curious to read about the Phoenix!

When I started this book there was an authors note recommending that the series be read in order but pointed out it wasn't necessary. Of course I didn't do that. Eff that. I HAD to read Unicorn Firefighter first. No harm, no foul. I understood the backstories easily.
This was Hugh and Ivy's romance/ action adventure. I found myself pleasantly surprised. I will definitely go back and read the others in the series.

Hugh is a unicorn shifter. No one knows the identity of his animal except for his parents and his captain. A unicorn horn can bring eternal youth to whomever has it. They are more valuable dead than alive. As a result, most people believe they do not even exist because they have been hiding.

Hugh has white spikey hair. How cute is that? (I have blonde hair, which is close to white, so I started feeling a little unicornish myself.) He's known for his surly attitude and healing abilities. Oh, and anyone that's not chaste gives him a headache when he touches them.

Ivy is a wyvern shifter. It's like a small dragon without hands and with wings that spews venomous poison. She can't touch anyone because she could harm or kill them. She's been raising her disabled younger sister for years and living hard. She's tough and street smart. Ivy has dark hair with a green streak. She isolates herself from everyone and is disliked and feared among all shifters.

Obviously, this was a great recipe for angst. One touch heals, the other destroys. Combined with a one dimensional evil villain and family drama I couldn't help but devour this sucker. Heck yeah.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but it was good. I like how they take part of the mythology around unicorns to make Hugh's life complicated, and in a way, it makes sense. I liked the complications, the misunderstandings, even the cliches. This is another example where the book lived up to its potential. Or maybe I just love unicorns that much.

Also, I like tortured characters, and both Ivy and Hugh were good examples of that.

“...if you want a happy ending, you have to make it yourself.”
Zoe Chant keeps breaking my heart and putting it back together with these Fire & Rescue Shifters novels. I thought John Doe’s story was crushing, but Firefighter Unicorn is an even match. So poignant, both Hugh and his Wyvern mate Ivy living in isolation and pain because they never could rejoice in a loved one’s touch, pushing each other away because of their intense love of the other. The hills and valleys of emotion that Ms. Chant cycled us through almost too much to bear. Knowing that this must have a happy ending, but never quite seeing how that could possibly happen. And yet it does, for so many of our most favorite characters as well as for some newly introduced. Just wonderful! And the promise of finally hearing the story of the mighty Commander Ash? Priceless! It almost eclipses the fact that it signals the end.
As I’ve said in previous reviews for this series, if you are a fan, you can’t miss this installment, and if you’re new to the series, get started. It will be one of your best Christmas presents ever.
I received a free copy from the author and willingly choose to review.

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! No one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have bought this book because it is awesome, and I own most of Zoe’s books!

The cover is amazing!! It has a unicorn which if you noticed I’m pretty fanatical about :) I collect them, do reviews using them, and yeah you get the idea! I love unicorns!

This is the 6th book in the series, and I was so right about Hugh! This series is for adults only due to the steamy content. I would also highly recommend reading the series in order because the characters and previous events make it better all together with their synergy.

Hugh and Ivy’s story is epic! It has tons of action, and it was an emotional rollercoaster! There was mystery and intrigue that was slowly revealed. Hugh and Ivy are perfect together! I couldn’t put the book down. I can’t wait to read more of this series because Ash needs his happily ever after too!

I highly recommend this book and series to all shifter fans especially if you love mythic shifters and HEAs!! I can’t wait to read what Zoe comes up with next!!!

Hugh is a shifter whose touch can heal anything. Ivy is a wyvern whose touch is deadly even in her human form. When they meet and learn they're mates, things don't go smoothly at first but when Ivy and her sister, Hope, are in danger, Hugh is into protecting them 100 percent.

This was a great book and a fabulous addition to the series. It's weel-written with well-rounded characters. I highly recommend it although I suggest you read the books in order so you have a full sense of the characters.

A great story!

I've enjoyed all the books in this series. Each new book, I get a new favorite. While I look forward to the next, presumably last, book in the series, the author is going to be hard pressed to top this one. With a fast paced storyline, and well developed characters that draw you in, I couldn't put this book down. If you haven't yet started this series, I highly recommend you do so immediately.

I was on a Sci Fi binge now I am on a Paranormal shifter binge and that is how I came across Zoe's books. Once I find an author whose books I like I will read them all and let me tell you Zoe has a lot. They are quick and easy reads. Some serious some make me laugh but all have danger and fated mates.
I enjoy paranormal stories as they take you away from everyday life and anything goes.

A FABULOUS ADDITION TO THE SERIES & MY NEW FAVORITE !!!
Title: Firefighter Unicorn
Series: Fire and Rescue Shifters
Author: Zoe Chant
Designation: Book 6 of Series, Full-Length, Can Be Read As Standalone, NO CLiffhanger
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: Five Sexy Stars*****
**Although this book can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend, at least, reading the first two books of the Fire and Rescue Shifters Series to avoid spoilers.

Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! I love, love, love this book! Firefighter Unicorn is a captivating addition to Chant's popular Fire and Rescue Shifters Series, and another perfect example of why I adore Zoe Chant's passionate prose. I've been a diehard fan for several years and I can truthfully say, I've never read a Zoe Chant book I didn't enjoy. Chant is an incredibly gifted storyteller, talented wordsmith, and master of her trade who excels at creating unique storylines and vividly depicted worlds with beautifully detailed descriptions, then populating her creations with intriguing characters that will surely capture your imagination along with your heart. And Firefighter Unicorn is no exception! Once I started reading, I could not stop. I was riveted to my seat, white knuckling my ereader with my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the hours flew as quickly as the pages, and it was FABULOUS! Can you tell I really enjoyed this story? lol... Now, I'll tell you why!

Firefighter Unicorn is an exciting, well-crafted, fast-paced, easy-to-follow, full-length, standalone paranormal tale filled to the brim with danger, drama, action, suspense, fantasy, heartache, passion, and heartwarming romance. The narrative is beautifully written in the third person with multiple perspectives but primarily from the two protagonists. Chant also gives the reader an insightful peek into the mind of the heroine's always-in-trouble, younger sister as well as the antagonist. I know it can be a lot of work, but I adore a book with multiple perspectives. It allows me to know what's going on inside the minds of other characters, not just the hero and heroine. The dialogue is smart, entertaining, well executed, and flows effortlessly. I've loved the entire Fire and Rescue Shifter series but Firefighter Unicorn is my favorite! I was fascinated by the gruff, grouchy, and very mysterious paramedic Hugh Argent when he was first introduced in the first book of the series and have impatiently waited for his story to be told. I think every single fan of the Fire and Rescue Shifters Series, including me, has been trying to guess what kind of shifter Argent is, but Chant has kept it a closely guarded secret - until now - but the title of the book may have given it away! lol... I was also intrigued by the not-so-nice and very frightening wyvern shifter Ivy Viverna who was introduced in Firefighter Pegasus, the second book of series. I was so hoping we would hear from her again and thankfully, we do! Much to my surprise, Chant has paired two of her most intriguing characters in this story and they complement each other brilliantly. This pair of unlikely lovers literally explode from the pages, demand your undivided attention, and completely capture your heart. Although these characters appear in earlier books of the series, this story can still be read as a standalone. However, if you wish to avoid a few spoilers, I highly recommend, at least, reading the first three books before Firefighter Unicorn.

No spoilers from me but I will say this... Handsome, cranky, and always bad-tempered paramedic member of the Sussex County Fire and Rescue Alpha Team who is always standoffish, super secretive about himself, and always has a headache (and with good reason but we finally find out why!)-Check! Beautiful but deadly wyvern shifter with a tragic past who can never be touched nor loved but must protect her younger sister-Check! A menagerie of well-developed characters along with a treasure trove of their mythical animal alters-Check! Danger, drama, action, adventure, suspense, angst, heartbreak, and even a sprinkling of humor-check! Malevolent enemies-Check! A Christmas miracle (or several)-Absolutely! Electric attraction, explosive passion, seductive romance and a sweet happy ending-You bet! That and a whole lot more!

Did I like this book? No, I loved it! This story really tugged at my heartstrings and may have been the most emotional book of the series to date. Ivy was not a nice person when she was originally introduced in the series and Hugh certainly hasn't won any popularity contests. But sometimes, people do what they must in order to survive and even more importantly, protect the people they love. I've always had a soft spot underdogs and Ivy's life was hard with a younger sibling to protect, but she was loyal and resilient. And for anyone following the series, a reader probably thought Hugh was just a big grouch. When I began reading Firefighter Unicorn, I had no idea where Chant was going with this story and how she could possibly redeem two very seemingly unrepentant characters, which brings me to another thing I love about Chant's stories. If you read between the lines, there's always a life lesson to be learned. Most of us, at one time or another, have been guilty of judging a book by its cover, rather than by what's on the inside. My heart broke for both Ivy and Hugh but neither were very likable, proving once again, don't judge until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes. But sometimes, the universe is listening and fate rewards us with more than we could ever dream. It's just so heartrending but thankfully, Hugh and Ivy do get their happy ending. *sigh* Would I recommend it? You bet, and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain a few dreamy love scenes. Will I read this author again? Absolutely! Just as soon as she publishes her next release. Zoe Chant is a gifted storyteller and master of her trade who consistently publishes exceptionally imaginative, well crafted, and exceptionally well-edited stories with unique storylines and beautiful covers. And finally, was I entertained? Completely! Well done, Zoe Chant! Well done, indeed!

Holy ridiculous plots, Batman! I started this book because I got such a good laugh out of the title. And it did tend to be silly—the unicorn firefighter only being able to comfortably touch virgins being one of the biggest laughs I got. But the whole thing was a bit like a sci-fi Hallmark movie—silly, ridiculous, but entertaining in its absurdity. I had about as much fun reading this book and laughing about plot points and characterization as I do making fun of things in Hallmark Christmas movies. And it helped that it was not atrociously written—some typos, some bad grammar, but on the whole not bad.

3 stars. Ivy, a wyvern shifter, can't touch anyone without poisoning them. Hugh, a unicorn shifter, can't bear to touch anyone unchaste. This is their story.

So I'll unashamedly admit I picked this up purely because the title and cover had me giggling. Plus it's free on kindle-unlimited - bonus! But the writing was better than I expected, and the story was generally enjoyable.

Ivy is your typical down-on-her-luck poor girl who can also "shift" into a Wyvern and spew poison at people. She's pretty much feared and hated by everyone, and has links to the criminal element in Brighton.

Hugh is the super hot paramedic who loves cats and is secretly a unicorn. Being a unicorn means that he can't touch anyone 'unchaste' - he is actively repulsed by them. It also means that he is actively hunted for the magical powers of his horn (hence the secrecy).

The story is kind of chaotic and pretty fast paced with a crime lord and kidnapping and a ball and lots of back and forth between Hugh and Ivy as they try to fight their mutual attraction. There's also a disabled sister who needs to be healed, and a bunch of other fire fighting shifter friends who presumably all have their own books too.

This was a super quick read, and while I didn't hate it, I didn't really get anything out of it either. It pretty much just coasted along, inserting random magical and mythical creatures every now and again. I might read some of the other books in the series, but I'm not feeling especially compelled to.

If I do have a complaint, it's that the key fight scene in the book felt weirdly placed (too early) and abrupt. I might actually re-read that section to see if I missed something, because it honestly felt like half a chapter or so was simply not there.

Anyway I guess I can recommend this to anyone looking for something (very) lightweight. Oh I should add that this is one of those universes where there are perfect mates. I'm a bit meh about that whole thing, but I didn't think they did it too badly here, but I still would have liked a bit more attempt to build some chemistry between Zoe and Hugh other than simply feeling sorry for/wanting to protect the other person. There's not much common ground between them.

4.5 rating.

Firefighter a Unicorn/#6 is a unique & creative Opposites Attract love story with the 2 main characters finding and keeping their “mate” against all odds. The characters - Ivy/FMC, an ostracized rare and venomous wyvern shifter and Hugh/MMC, a secretive unicorn shifter who suffers from migraines, must persevere through the most difficult circumstances (including never being able to touch one-another) to gain their HEA.

I began reading the Fire and Rescue series because I was drawn to the idea of these unique and mythical Shifters (a Griffin, Unicorn, Megladon, Phoenix, Sea Dragon, & Pegasus). The setting descriptions and the characters in each book have been creative and imaginative. I like that these characters are more than basic dragons or bears, although I have favorites in such series as well. Readers who prefer light rather than dark paranormal novels, quick reading angst-free stories, a touch of humor & fun fantasy in their books, the Opposites Attract trope and HEAs may wish to check-out Firefighter Unicorn and this entire series. Unicorn was one of my favorite Firefighter stories thus far.

Firefighter Unicorn/#6 can be read as a standalone title but the characters from the earlier books do make crossover appearances. For the most enjoyment I recommend reading the previous books in the Fire and Rescue Shifter series which are similar in fun and mythical creativity - Dragon/#1, Pegasus/#2, Griffin/#3, Sea Dragon/#4, Master Shark/#5, Unicorn/#6, and finally Phoenix/#7. Be careful not to confuse this series/Firefighter Fire & Rescue with another Zoe Chant series - the Wildfire: Fire & Rescue series (which branches off this series). Should you decide, shop carefully; it can be confusing (my only complaint). ;)

There is on-scene sexual intimacy between the 2 main characters that falls somewhere between sweet and steamy (2.5 or so of 5, on 0-5 Very Clean - Very Steamy scale, IMO). The intimacy is just one aspect of their growing committed relationship. It’s not casual sex and not the main emphasis of the story. Profanity is used about 30 times. There is minimal violence similar to a PG rated fantasy action film. Also, the possible development of a lesbian relationship, among 2 minor characters, is mentioned which may continue in a future title. Due to all the aforementioned, IMO this series is not suitable for young readers and readers who prefer entirely Clean material may chose to look elsewhere.

Unexpected Treasure!!!

Hugh Argent, a paramedic with the East Sussex Fire and Rescue, and a member of theball shifter Alpha Fire Team was an unique shifter. He used his powers to heal people, even his teammates didn't know what his imner animal was.

Being a Unicorn, he had to kept a secret. He never intended to find his one true mate but when he met the sexy, infuriating and fierce Wyven, Ivy . He knew his world has just tilted on its axis.

Ivy Viverna (we first met her in FIREFIGHTER PEGASUS ), was a Wyven shifter who has been an outcast all her life. She would do anything if it meant her younger sister would have a chance at living. Her only family was slowly dying from a paralysing illness.

When she found out that the sexy as sin Hugh was immune to her venom. She made him a deal she thought he would just on. If he saved her sister, he would never have to see Ivy ever again.

They both agreed to the deal but the more they got to kniw each other, the more they realized how alike they were. With danger surrounding them, Hugh decided to head back home.

His friends turned their backs on him when he needed them to accept Ivy as his mate. Their actions hurt him but when he needed them the most, his mate went to them for help.

After losing a part of him, Ivy pulled away from Hugh. She felt guilty for his predicament, she was even willing go to any length to save him. Hugh had a lot to work out starting by stop hiding from his loved ones.

The bond between the Alpha Team was a beautiful one. They were like a family, they fought with each other but always had each other's backs, no matter what.

Ivy and Hugh got their HEA, the two loners found what they had been looking for a long time.......each other.

FIREFIGHTER UNICORN is the sixth book in Zoe Chant's FIRE & RESCUE SHIFTERS series. It was oustanding, beautiful and intriguing. 5++++

While I loved the shark's story, I was happy to get back to our core group of firefighters with this book. We also bring back Ivy who was a great character. Hugh has always been kind of an enigma and it's gratifying to finally see a little more into his character. Honestly, this was the most compelling story yet for me in the series. The stakes seem to have gotten higher in this installment.

Ivy just wants to take care of her sister and has only ever been able to rely on herself to do so. Her story is tragic and her life so heartbreaking that I found myself looking for any way out just as much as she was. Hugh has other obstacles in his life that make having a mate seemingly impossible and the loneliness that he too has experienced and is likely to continue in his life was just as heartbreaking.

Despite how honestly sad I was throughout most of this book, I LOVED it. It made the ending so much more satisfying. I loved Hope's ending, I loved how Ivy and Hugh worked out, and even things about Hugh's family (I don't want to give spoilers away regarding that point).

Firefighter Unicorn is a story that bring you to heartwrenching tears before turning them to happy tears. It's about family, friends, and overcoming fear to reach for what you deserve.

Words escape me

Words escape me. Truly. I finished this book at 5 am because I couldn't put it down--so much for reading right before bed. But I was unable to write the review until nearly 12 hours later. I have needed that much time to process this book. Anyway, I found Hugh and Ivy's story to be a compellingly emotional read; it gripped me hard and wouldn't let go. Both Hugh and Ivy kept themselves isolated out of fear. For Ivy, it was fear of hurting others, and for Hugh it was because lust from others caused pain. I guess it would with him being a unicorn and then always on the hunt for virgins. I really didn't see how Hugh and Ivy would be able to consummate their relationship and be able to be the "same" afterward. Hugh's university corn desires purity and Ivy would no longer be a virgin. Well, the story kept me guessing, and in tears, until the very end--and it was a marvelous end! You definitely need to 1-click today. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

Series: Fire & Rescue Shifters #6
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

This was a pretty interesting fated mates story. I really liked Hugh and Ivy. Hugh’s shifter has been a mystery up until this point because of how unique it is. Unicorns have been hunted to extinction due to their abilities. The unicorns in this world are very unique and unexpected. Hugh was a grumpy man who was just struggling to help as many people as he can. Ivy is a wyvern, another rare shifter, who cannot touch anyone because she can’t control her wyvern poison. She also takes care of her teenage sister. I enjoyed the romance between these two and how they saved each other.

Also, I was surprised by how anti-Ivy the rest of the Fire & Rescue gang was in this though. I wasn’t expecting such hostility when they know she can’t control her poison.

5 Stars

5 stars total, 1 Star each for:
- Story structure, nothing seemed overdone or lacking.
- Grammar and editing. I love it when I don't have to go back and re-read lines to try and figure out what the author was trying to say due to poor editing. MANY good takes have been ruined this way.
- Character development. Characters were relatable in their situations, without the clichés.
- It's a series but you're able to read it in any order you want and not feel cheated out of one of the books you haven't read yet. If anything it may make you want to change your mind about such book to read next based on the hints revealed about previous character's books.
- Imagery was excellent, allowing you to view the book as a movie in your head as you read.
- I would recommend it for a friend. And more importantly I'd enjoy reading it more than once.

I received and ARC of this book with no obligation to leave my honest review!
Another great book in this series...
I love the use of Mystical shifter animals, adds another interesting element to it and I love this author's take on the unicorn. Huge was fabulous and Ivy was such a strong character, loved them both and thought them perfect for each other.
I will admit to nearly stopping reading as I didn't like the direction the book had taken there for a bit but thankfully I kept my faith in this author and she certainly threw some twists in there that I didn't see coming and so didn't let me down for an amazing HEA!
Overall a really interesting read and I that felt a little longer then her others which I enjoyed, a great addition to the series, looking forward to the next one!

Ivy and Hugh

Hugh is the paramedic on the Alpha Fire team. He can heal people when he touches them. He also makes sure he doesn't touch anyone unless they are being healed.
Ivy is a wyvern shifter. We met her when her venom was to be used to hurt Chase's mate in a previous story. She can't touch anyone or be touched because of the wyvern venom. The least harm is paralysis the worst is death. Most wyverns can control their venom but she can't.
Gaze is a basalis shifter and also a crime boss. He first wanted Ivy but then changed him mind and wanted Hugh.
We find out what Hugh's animal is. We also get to know his family. We go through quite a few ups and downs throughout this book. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. I look forward to Commander Ash's story next.

I would be better with three importante scenes:
1) Rose and Griffin tearing Alpha team down after they turned their back on Hugh and Ivy because of her vyvern. When they refused to listen to her, knowing she was his mate, they let down one of their own. That was super disappointing. That should have a scene where they realize their mistake and the consequences of that (Hugh quitting and then him and Hope being kidnapped).
2) The team apologizing to Hugh and Ivy for said assholery. Connie - who was the trigger point of their hostility towards Ivy - was the first to make ammends by introducing herself and holding her hand.
3) Hugh getting to see his father’s unicorn in the end. It would be a fitting ending to learn that unicorns do keep their animals, if they find their true mate.

The Best Story Yet

Oh boy! Oh boy! This is the best story in this series! I loved it! OK, I know that's a lot of exclamation marks. But really, who's could blame me? And, it is the season of miracles anyway. Ivy and Hugh's story is so beautiful. For a deadly wyvern and a shining unicorn to have a chance to find love and happiness should give everyone hope. Even through the many trials and tribulations, there was still a feeling of something wonderful possibly happening for everyone. Once I started reading this story, I couldn't stop. Thank you, Zoe, for writing such a lovely story. It lifted my spirit. Happy reading everyone!

More emotional than the others, I think

I needed tissues for this story. Hugh is the wonderful character we have seen in the other stories. Ivy has so much to deal with that it's amazing that she can do anything. There are so many twists and surprises in this story that I don't want to say any more.

This story has a moderate pace sometimes, faster others. The tone is pretty emotional, with a character oriented storyline with some action, too. The characters are vivid and draw you into their lives. You don't have to read the rest to enjoy this, but you may want to! Try it and see.

Lol! Hughnicorn! A National Treasure.

"Goodbye whispered his Unicorn"
made me cry in denial.
Thank goodness for a stubborn Wynvern, poisonous spit, claw's and all, and thank goodness for the love and trust of a unique and determined mate.
I so looked forward to reading Hugh's story, and thankfully it was as wonderful as I hoped it would be.
There's so much more I could say, but that would spoil your own personal enjoyment.
Congrats Ms Zoe Chant, another well written, highly entertaining, highly recommended addition to your "Fire and Rescue" series.
Can't wait to read the next book "Firefighter Phoenix" Ash'es story.

I saw this advertised in one of my newsletters and the blurb grabbed my attention. I quickly borrowed this book with KU and 10 days later, I have completed this series and the first two books of the Wildfire series (and freakin' can't wait for Joe's story Wildfire Seadragon).

Love this series! This eclectic gang of Firefighters hauled me into their world and won't release me. Hugh the Unicorn was my first and if I had written this review before I read Wildfire Unicorn, I would have said it is my favorite but Hugh lost out to his son, Wystan (Wildfire Unicorn). I loved Ivy and Hugh and Hope.

Grab this series and settle in for some great stories.
