So far, this series is the best I've found to engage my 11 month old son in reading. Since I was only able to buy these books used, anything destroyable is already gone, but there is plenty of texture and variety to keep an otherwise squirmy baby interested. In terms of my son's favorites, this ranks below 'Count Matisse's Fish' but above 'Tickle Tut's Toes'.
Unlike most children's books, I'm learning something too, making this a book I'm happy to read dozens of times.
Quick, Fun Read. I really liked that the title of the painting and the artist's name was underneath each painting. I skipped the last two pages with more detailed information on each artist. The size is a little bigger than a typical board book which was nice as it allowed more space for the paintings.
This is my 3-year-old's favorite book. (And that's saying a lot because she loves books). It goes with us in the car and to many of our daily activities. The paintings genuinely appeal to her, and to me it says that you're never too young to appreciate good art.
