This lost me very quickly. The premise sounded really promising, using quite a different type of main character, but then just quickly devolved into a series of rapes and body horror type instances. And it moved so quickly and had such a predominance of sexual assaults, that none of it had purpose or much impact on me, as the reader. It just all felt like a run-on scene. Not really any story beyond the aforementioned points. And I fully understand, having read an ugly amount of extreme horror and splatterpunk over the years, that a super detailed, intricate plot isn’t always needed for a good horror experience. These kinds of stories can sometimes be really ridiculous or vulgar, making a niche for itself that is just fun to turn your mind off and explore. However, there always needs to be context to what’s happening to the characters, whether a dive into the people or some semblance of relevant plot points, to bring it all together. Writing about rape and violence just to write about those things isn’t enough, by themselves, to make for a good experience, and that’s how this came across. Nothing unique or enjoyable, even for a sick puppy like myself, here.

First of all, I'm a huge fan of Matt Vaughn, he never lets me down with his utter depravity and his magnificently sick, twisted mind, and this is no exception! So, get your vom bags ready and dive right on in….

Creed is the local handyman, his next job is a blocked sink, but as he lays out his tools to get started, the owner of the house decides to get to work on him!!

He wakes up to find himself the center of attention, and it's not just the sink that's getting filled!!

Mr Garnish is the unassuming looking owner of the house, he just wants what's best for his little brother, Slim. But it turns out that what Slim wants is nothing compared to what Mr Garnish himself has a taste for!

This short, brutal, sickening tale starts off bad for Creed, and then it gets so much worse for him too!! So….much….worse!!

A man taken to his breaking point, piece by piece, pushed ever closer to insanity, and then he's given a horrific ultimatum….

Written in a fun, smooth flowing and jam-packed descriptive narrative, I couldn't put it down! I kinda wanted to at points, but I couldn't and didn't. This was a one-sitting, full throttle, vomit inducing ride through hell! Full of coprophilia, torture, so much torture, and cannibalism, it was vile, disgusting, disturbing, sick and twisted…all of my favourite things! 😉

Brilliant fun, DISGUSTINGLY brilliant fun!! 🖤

Oh, and it looks like #slobbypoopoo is making a comeback! 🤘💩🤘

Well, I didn't want my lunch anyways.

I shall sleep a little better tonight knowing that my importance has been validated in the fact none of my techs could possibly wind up in Creed's predicament for very long since I will absolutely not stop or let it go until I have all the paperwork for the previous day (we find validation where we can eh).

On a vaguely more serious note, House Call is a gross out utterly bleak fever dream with almost all of the triggering stuff.

OMG...this was absolutely disgustingly vile.
Don't even think about eating anything whilst reading this book otherwise you're sure to be seeing it again after you get to the ending.
A very descriptive story and so well written that you can practically feel, taste and smell everything that's going on here!!
A simple House Call to unblock a pipe turned into a utter nightmare for poor Creed.

Garnish and Slim were not only brothers...they were demented brutal animals...and they leave nothing to the imagination.

Read with caution!!

What absolutely vile, disgusting shit did I just read? And why did I love it?

This short story follows Mr. Garnish and his brother Slim—two men whose tastes are... let's say unforgettably horrific. (Trust me, the less you know going in, the better; don’t want to spoil it.)
Part of the twisted fun here is discovering exactly what these brothers are into—and how far they'll go to satisfy themselves.

And once you realize what they’re doing, their names suddenly make way too much sense.

A short, gross, and deeply disturbing story about a house call from a plumber gone wrong.

It was super disgusting, but didn’t have too much depth as a story. What were the main antagonists motivations? Why did they live like that and do the horrible things they did? I would’ve just liked to know more.

SO FOUL. House Call will completely assault your entire soul with all the vile and revolting acts that take place and leave you full on retching. Grab your puke bucket or stay near the bathroom cuz this is gonna get pretty disgusting. 🤢🥴🤮

Creed is a plumber and gets a house call to look at a sink that isn’t draining properly. However, once he gets inside and starts to assess the issue, he gets handcuffed and drugged and next thing he knows everything goes black. He wakes up in the basement and this is where the mayhem fully unleashes.

If you thought Bowery was vile and depraved…just you wait. Matthew Vaughn said “hang on hold my beer” and House Call was released to test even the most seasoned readers in the genre. Full on gross-outs to the extreme in this one. For as short of a story as this was, it sure was packed full with action and the most revolting and sadistic acts imaginable.

well, I never!

This story is so vile, I read it as fast as I could! I felt terrible for Creed, that poor man…and no happy ending for him either! I really like Mr. Vaughn’s writing style, it definitely keeps you interested in the story.

I have read a few books by this author, but this one is definitely his most disturbing so far.

A plumber receives a house call for a job, he does this all the time so what could possibly go wrong?

Well, let's just say everything that could go wrong DOES go wrong. I will stop saying the word "wrong" now, lol. (ugh I just did it again)

Anyways, this a truly messed up book with a lot of triggers where our main character gets caught up with two very disturbed individuals.

Honestly, there's not a lot to the story, but if you are looking for a straight up nasty-fest, then this is for you!

Oh lord, honestly it is kinda of my own doing. I asked for a recommendation from the author and boy, did I get one. This book rivals Bowery's messed up nature, as an unsuspecting plumber called Creed is put through the ringer. This is a story that gives all the anxiety, because it shows that even in an everyday job call. Anything can happen, especially when you're in a job that involves House Calls.
I mean good god, the things that happen to Creed when he is trapped in the basement of Mr Garish's house. Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, along with sexual assault (which I am putting VERY mildly) there is also cannibalism. Because you know why waste money feeding a sex slave when you can feed them bits of themselves?! Then there's the neausiating scenes involving the eating of poop which turned my stomach. This story is all kinds of wrong, but I could not stop reading. Matt has a way of writing some of the most depraved shit ever, but the reader is compelled to read on. No matter how dark and twisted it got I was rooting for Creed to get out of this. He was a really likeable character and I think that is what made it so much worse, along with how well Matthew portrays how this trauma messes with his mind. Honestly, I need a very hot shower to burn the shame off my skin.
Because I felt dirty just reading this alarming yet fast paced horror fest.

"Someone tugged on the bag covering his head, pulling his head back, straining his neck. Then the bag was off and Creed breathed in deep, coughing and gagging now, his eyes blurry from tears as he tried desperately to look around and see where he was, see who was doing this to him. Mr. Garnish was looking down at him, smiling a devilish smile."

Creed is just doing his job. A plumber answering a call about a blocked sink, however, the inhabitants of the house he's called to have more sinister and nefarious needs for him to fulfil..

Ugh. Just ugh. Do I really need to say more than that? I LOVE disgusting and depraved books, but this is another level..and I still loved it? 😅 I couldn't even describe the faces I made reading this.

Vivid descriptions.. and.. smells, characters you hate, and plenty of gore and filth. It's definitely my favourite read by Matthew so far. It takes a LOT to make me squirm, and you managed it. Well done.

Creed is sent out to fix Mr. Garnish’s backed up sink… and ends up staying a lot longer than he was contracted for. Slim, Mr. Garnish’s brother, is on hand to help keep the contractor from leaving job unfinished. Trust me when I say the repulsive factor in this out does BOWERY by a long shot. A HIGHLY RECOMMEND for those with no triggers. 10/5.

Matthew Vaughn has mastered the art of making a short story into a major power play. I flew through this story in one sitting, feeling physically ill as I did so.
A very methodical and vanilla appearing man is in need of plumbing work when the unsuspecting Creed shows up to help, what he doesn’t know, is that nothing is as it seems and he’s the one who will be needing the help.
Without spoiling anything this book is unforgiving and the brutality doesn’t let up throughout the entirety of the story. Cover to cover this book is chock full of triggers, gore and more.
You’ll think twice before ever working for a small blue collar business again after reading this. I look forward to the sequel.

Don't read this book on a full stomach😆
As he chewed on himself, he glanced over to the other side of his cell and saw the two men, the smaller one was on his knees sucking on the other one's cock. He knew that cock had just been in Joe’s asshole and had come out covered in blood and shit, and was surprised to find that it just didn’t bother him. Being in that place was changing him. It was to be expected, though.

Mr. Garnish has to have the most foul breath.

4.5 ⭐️ This is not my first read from Vaughn but it is probably my favorite to date. Creed is a local plumber who’s called out on the job for a blocked sink but little does he know he signed up for a lot more than that that. He wakes up in a basement as a sex slave. Vaughn, delves deep into how much the mind and body is willing to endure to survive. Highly recommend to those looking for an extreme gross out read!

Yowza!

House Call is short, nasty, and brutal as fuck. This is 58 pages of violence and depravity that'll have you clenching your buttcheeks and your jaw. Creed is a plumber making a house call. He has a bad feeling about this job almost immediately, but figures he can knock it out quickly and gtfo of there. He has no idea what he's in for, and neither do you, dear reader. Let's just say that I had visceral reactions to lots of the descriptive language. It's disgusting and I loved it.

Creed is a plumber who is making his first house call of the day; unfortunately, this may be his first and only stop. Vile, morbid, and stomach churning. Vaughn gives us another great story that will make you squirm. A quick, vile read that shouldn't be overlooked. Vaughn is one of my favorites for a reason. Definitely check it out! A simple yet brutal story about a plumber getting hell thrusted upon him by a normal man and his abnormal sibling. Like a bursted sewage pipe expect there to be lots of fecal matter.
