Very good travel and adventure information and recommendations. The adventures I have been on they have described spot on. I have added a few items to my bucket list and have fodder for around planning and dreaming.
I got this from the library so it could sit on our coffee table for a few weeks and we could pick it up at random and find neat places to go. I now think it needs to live permanently on the coffee table (well, maybe not, but somewhere in our bookshelves), so I'm going to look into purchasing it. Then we'll have it for future planning... and dreaming... and learning.
The book is beautifully laid out and is jam-packed with adventure trips from around the world. Well organized (by continent), with blocks of text and tons of neat facts, accompanied by gorgeous photos and helpful tips. I found many many amazing-sounding places to visit that I'd never before heard of. Need to make a list of places to find out more about, before I return this one! Highly recommended for adventure seekers and those who like to run around, sweat, and get dirty when they travel :)
Bucket list aspirational and inspirational travel porn book for the adventurous. Better than average when it comes to conveying practical information for those that actually want to get out there and do these things. I'd give a higher rating if it wasn't for the usual Rough Guide lay-out/graphic design/look and feel, which is cluttered, clunky, slap-dash and hard to read, nice photos notwithstanding.
One I'd like to refer back to. Good reference when planning a trip around at least one outdoor adventure. (Don't think we'll get over to Romania to go caving just yet.)
