Saving the Bill of Rights: Exposing the Left's Campaign to Destroy American Exceptionalism 1st (first) edition

Rate this book
For most of us, the Bill of Rights is sacred. It enshrines, defines, and protects the liberties we take for granted as Americans. But almost unnoticed, a dedicated minority of special interests is chipping away at the Bill of Rights to the point that, while the words might remain in the Constitution, the rights themselves will be lost. Frank Miniter, New York Times bestselling author of The Ultimate Man’s Survival Guide , has seen firsthand—and exposed as a journalist—the relentless assaults that are stripping away our Second Amendment rights. Now he reports on the broad, radical offensive that targets not just our right to bear arms, but all our rights, including the First Amendment’s guarantee of free speech and religion.

Very solid read! This book will teach you a great deal about America's constitution and other founding documents, with a specific focus on the 10 original Bill of Rights. A thorough and comprehensive chapter is dedicated to each amendment, and so I enjoyed the "flow" of the material as it was easy to follow yet historically accurate and detailed, using lots of "modern-day" examples and anecdotes. This is a clarion call to us freedom loving Americans to return to our founding documents - especially the Bill of Rights - so that we can all continue living with full freedom and liberty - and the pursuit of happiness.

There is a chilling view of President Obama, before he became president of the United States, this in "The Preamble" section, the 1st section:

Miniter takes quotes from a senior seminar paper Obama wrote while attending Columbia University:

"The Constitution allows for many things, but what it does not allow is the most revealing. The so-called Founders did not allow for economic freedom. While political freedom is supposedly a cornerstone of the document, the distribution of wealth is not even mentioned. While many believed that the new Constitution gave them liberty, it instead fitted them with the shackles of hypocrisy."

Obama's choice of language is telling...."the so-called Founders"...."political freedom is supposedly..."...."distribution of wealth..." This man became president!

good read.

Miniter covers the ten amendments to our Bill of Rights...covers some of the history behind each one...highlights some of the protection that has been lost for each one...

informative...enlightening...at times baffling--how a judge can one moment act one way, another occasion, act another way.

some decisions boggle the mind.

but all is not lost...as Miniter also highlights some of the victories....those times when the rule of law has been upheld.

onward and upward....we hope.

A must read on 3 levels..... 1) Before graduating High School and registering to vote, 2) Before graduating college, & 3) Before every election. I felt the same way and wish I had the intelligence to write a book like this. Enjoy......
