Rate this book
Tao Te Ching is a philosophical book written by Lao-tzu 2,600 years ago. It consists of about five thousand words with 800 Chinese characters. The title “Tao Te Ching” can be translated as “The Book of Tao and Te”. Tao is the first cause of the universe. What causes Tao? Author Lao-tzu says he doesn’t know and therefore Tao is undefined. Te is the use of Tao.The basic idea of Tao Te Ching is that everything can ultimately be explained by one thing – Tao. Tao is the complete explanation of space, time, energy, life, consciousness, human intelligence, thoughts, and all visible and invisible aspects of reality. Tao is the beginning and ending of all reality in the Universe. Tao manifests itself in different forms and laws in the Universe.Te is the use of Tao. Fish have obtained Te so that they can live in water. Birds have obtained Te so that they can fly in air. Humans have obtained Te so that we can live on land. All living creatures have obtained Te so that they can become living creatures. In a broader sense, all things, including non-living things, have obtained Te so that they become what they are.The purpose of Tao Te Ching is to teach the world to live harmoniously through the Tao of natural long life. Tao Te Ching sets out to answer eight important Where do we come from and where are we going? Can the opposite of a profound truth also be true? What is the invisible action wuwei (Can a flap of the wings of a butterfly in one place cause a tornado in another)? What happens when we reach total silence? Are we born enlightened beings? Is there cosmic justice? What is enough? Are we altruistic in nature?According to the answers to the above questions, Tao Te Ching can be grouped into eight 1. Tao; 2. Oneness; 3. Action; 4. Silence; 5. Life; 6. Peace; 7. Contentment; 8. Love. The principles of Tao Te Ching have been applied to religion, science, politics, commerce, medicine, education, sports, arts, and kung fu.

Is it possible to write a review about this book without reading it?.
Why not?. When Tao has no specific yet all meaning, one need not read, study, ponder about
or by heart every line in a book of this nature. The contents often remain between the lines--
some times between the words--in a rich book like this. My guess can't be pure balderdash!.

The cover page and basic information about this book reinforces my belief that music, meditation and martial art at their much deeper level or at their zenith merge into ONE or I may call it TAO or The ALL or The Way or The FLOW or The WE or The SOURCE or The FORCE----BALANCE--BRILLIANCE---SUBLIME BEAUTY---NATURAL COMPASSION---. Enough!.

8- is a bit mysterious ancient symbol. 8 Secrets---no, I am not interested in 'secrets' of this that. Yet I sense that this is a very valuable book---at least for me and for few rare individuals.

I feel Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching is one of the most beautiful, flowing wisdom ---its humility and simplicity often makes one forget about its almost unfathomable depth---.

I admit I have not even read a single line of this '8 SECRETS OF TAO TE CHING'. In spite of it, I frankly say that it ought to be a rich book which can enrich my as well as your life!. It might surely contain more than 8 secrets---may be 800 written or unwritten gems.

OK. You and me both love books---valuable books. Let's see ourselves much better through this book.

This book is to be perused, savored, referred to, embodied......not "read", although I'm sure someone could do that. Luke spent over 10 years living, memorizing and meditating on the TTC, and this book is his tome of that process, thus rearranging it into 8 sections: Tao, oneness, action, silence, life, peace, contentment and love, making it truly the most comprehensive study and meditation on the TTC I've seen, as well as a deeply thoughtful translation. You can see him reciting the TTC on his youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTXyY...
