There is a great deal of information in the 42 pages in this book. the information is placed in short informational groupings similar to the way a newspaper would be formatted with headlines, photos and text. The plus is that the information is a splash of color. I particularly like the small black and white photos of Matisse and other artists that help readers to realize that these are indeed real people. And one day I will get to the Barnes Foundation.
Another one of those dry "learn about artist" books, but it has some really good photos of him doing some of his HUGE paintings, and working on his cut-outs from his bed. I loved the reproduction of his painting, Dance, on pg 21 and would really like to see it in person someday. (The Hermitage, St. Petersburg, Russia)
