This is a collection of stories broadcast from NPR's first 25 years. So for each year, there are several big stories plus a small number from their memorable reporters. I enjoyed reading it and remembering the historical context as well as the number of times that listeners are featured in their broadcasts -- something like a "person on the street" response to the events of the day. I head Linda Wertheimer speak at Kenyon a few years ago -- this has been on my list since that time. I'm glad it made it to the top of the list.
This book, a collection of 25 years of NPR's best stories, appealed to my history teacher nature - and made me wish I could get reception for our local NPR station in my house.
