A firsthand account of the circus life back before it became industrialized. An interesting view into the relationships between wild animals and their human trainer in the nomadic life of 1930 to 1950 England. The curiosity and affection of the animals and the thoughtfulness and loving commitment of the trainer reframe your ideas about the nature of this dangerous life for the trainer and captive life for the animals. Well worth reading for those interested in inter species relationships and animals.
