Sibling rivalry sets in when Max's mother announces her pregnancy, and Max must deal with the idea of having a little brother or sister who will vie for his mother and father's attentions
Danielle Steel has been hailed as one of the world's bestselling authors, with almost a billion copies of her novels sold. Her many international bestsellers include All That Glitters, Royal, Daddy's Girls, The Wedding Dress, The Numbers Game, Moral Compass, Spy, and other highly acclaimed novels. She is also the author of His Bright Light, the story of her son Nick Traina's life and death; A Gift of Hope, a memoir of her work with the homeless; Expect a Miracle, a book of her favorite quotations for inspiration and comfort; Pure Joy, about the dogs she and her family have loved; and the children's books Pretty Minnie in Paris and Pretty Minnie in Hollywood.
I had known that Danielle Steel had written two series for children. (My cousin bought me a copy of Martha's Best Friend when I was in kindergarten.) Why she didn't continue I don't pretend to know. A sweet, innocent story brimming with wonder. I would read this to a child I loved at bedtime.
This is--quite literally--the only Danielle Steel book I have ever finished. I cannot stand her adult books at all. ---------------------- Max is used to being an only child, so the news of his mother to be having a baby frightens him, instead of cheering him up. He doesn't like his playroom being made into a nursery for the baby. He doesn't want to have to share all his toys and clothes with another child. But, when the twins are born, he is just as happy and excited as everyone else is about their arrival.
