Ah October magazine! Beautifully designed theory driven journal that looked good in one's hand. I used to subscribe to it, and was actually devoted to its contents and writers. They would have special issues devoted to an artist or writer - and this was the issue that got me into and introduced me to the world of Georges Bataille.

I believe the journal still exists - and i do come upon new releases of October Books (the publishing wing of the journal) - and again beautifully designed books. Very fetish like in fact. But then again that's the essence of books for me. The text as well as a fetish object.
