Excellent read as all the books in this series have been. A super look at what the Boston Fire Commissioner has to deal with on a daily basis. You will fully understand what a busy job this is on a daily basis. The book is well written and has a lot of humorous stories in it. I have read all of the authors book on the development of the Boston Fire Department and now feel that I could also be a member . Read them all ...you will enjoy each and every one......

Enjoyed the read. A nice narrative from the head of the Boston Fire Department in the 80s chronicalling the revitalization of the department amidst the end of the war years of arson.

True Fireman

Great stories, great leadership. He makes it so simple. Put fires out, let the guys know who the boss is, and he is here to help them. Take care of your people, and they will take care of you.
