"I couldn't put in down, it made me laugh, it made me cry, it made my jaw drop to the floor!" me mum's best friend Irene. Good Girls is a feel good, fast paced, thought provoking novel about four heroines. Four best friends who epitomise the newly evolved 21st Century Woman. The woman who dares to be different, the woman who dares to rebel. Straight-laced Cat steps out of character when she secretly flies all the way to Sydney to 'boil her soul mate's rabbits!' Jules embraces single-dom and commitment phobia, so when she falls in love with an actor ten years her junior, in the space of twenty-four hours, a spanner is well and truly thrown into her perfect life. Kizzy also meets the man of her dreams and much to her mother's chagrin they plan to spend all summer together. Unfortunately unbeknownst to everyone the man is actually her father. There's only so much sexist behaviour a woman can take. So bitter and twisted, Em leaves Japan and her boyfriend behind and embarks upon a journey that will not only avenge the male race but hopefully put her back on her correct and spiritual path. "Absolutely disgusting." Grandma. "Funny as f*#%. If Jackie Collins and Helen Fielding got it on then Crutchley would be their love child." Emma Twigge, The CP Gazette.
This book is amazing! It's like Sex in the City on acid! I swear, any woman out there who reads this will find it absolutely hilarious! The great part is after you and your friends read it you can decide which one of the four female characters you most resemble. Seriously, buy this off of amazon for you and your friends!!!
A story of four best friends who epitomise the woman who dares to be different, the woman who dares to rebel. Plot is fairly simple, but relatively entertaining.
Loved this book. Proper, good, fun, British chick-lit read.
Absolutely loved the reference to Ruperts library, as I was in mine at the time, it's where I do most of my reading, so I had a good chuckle at that. Haven't heard the term 'split-arse' for yonks, so that gave me another good chuckle.
Basically this book had me chuckling throughout, I know I will find myself reading it again. Definitely going to check out other works by this author.
Great book! I laughed, I cried, and I didn't want the story to end. it reminded me of a slight British version of Sex in the City. I look forward to reading more from Joycey Ann Crutchley. This was a great find.
I didn't care for the narrative voice, but the book was a fascinating read. I wouldn't say I liked it, but I didn't want to stop reading either. The characters although raw engaged me enough to care about what happened to them in the end.
I love this book!!! this was such a feel good book. I really enjoyed reading this. it made me laugh at times but mostly I fell in love with the main characters. the story was very believable and very down to earth. its a must read for those who like a fun and relaxing read.
fabulous read - 4 stories in one about adventures of 4 good girls - couldn't put it down didn't want it to end - great escapism at the same time makes you laugh cry and think!! loved it !!
Cat, Em and Jules share their adventures and they are as individual as each of the characters. Great interwoven tales that run the emotional gamut but ends on a positive note.
