To tell a good tale.

It’s a simple and valid answer when the question pops up, “Why do you write?”

At the end of the day, it is to tell a good tale.

Vince Milam has lived all over the world, traipsing through the Amazon, Congo, and Papua New Guinea—all the while demonstrating bourbon has medicinal qualities. Raised in Texas, he lives in the mountainous West where he proves—annually—that God doesn’t want us driving on snow. He relishes great reads, fine trout streams, family, old friends, and—especially—writing fast-paced thrillers that keep you up at night.

‘Keen anticipation and gut-level excitement’- A new Case Lee winner!

Idaho author Vince Milam has lived and worked in over twenty-five countries around the globe, and is a certified Wellness Coach in addition to being a bestselling author. His highly popular Case Lee series continues now with Book 12 - THE ALASKA JOB - and each new locale oriented mystery always seems to be his best to date - that is how strong is the impact of his eloquent language and ability to retain memories of the early books of the series enhances this new story. The plotline: ‘Tasked with recovering a fabled billion-dollar hoard, Case becomes entangled in a web of espionage and ruthless competitors. As he follows the trail of clues etched in long-ago history, danger lurks at every turn. From encounters with enigmatic Buddhist monks to unearthing secrets held by long-forgotten Russian fur traders, Case's journey evolves into a race against time and a battle for survival. Case must rely on his instincts and experience to navigate a world where every step could be his last. To even the odds, Case calls on his former teammates, unleashing their special skills in a high-stakes race against time’

One of the many aspects that make Vince such a successful novelist is his spectrum of characters he creates and also his deft painting of the many global locales in which he places his Case Lee. His scenes are so well crafted that they plead visualization in cinema! Vince Milam is now recognized as one of the major writers of suspense novels writing today. Read start with the 1st and continue through the-series. You will not want to put a book down once you start it Vince has a gift he shares with us through his books. Like JK with her Harry Potter books he brings his characters to life. I wish Case was a real man he is dynamic sexy and powerful, his adventures with his Delta team members are fabulous. I hope Vince keeps writing it would be a great loss to this world if he stops.
Case is a combination of Jack reacher, Rambo, and Indiana Jones with. Mom and sister he truly loves respects and takes care of. All this character is missing is a trained canine companion who would join him in his adventures. Vince makes him so alive a woman could fall-in love with Case Lee easily, lol. Now for the net adventure, book 13,
Enjoy the journey through the adventures of Case and his Friends the former Delta men.

A GREAT READ?

Vince Milam is the unqualified BEST in his Case Lee, Inc. storytelling. His characters are vivid and humanized. Milam paints the reader into his story plot. Great descriptive imagery. He has you moaning on Case's setbacks and rejoicing in his triumphs. sad or crying at Case's tenders musings with CC & Tinker Juarez. Enjoyable, believable & adoptive characters. Jess doesn't fully understand her loss, who & what she has foresaken!
A truly GREAT& ENJOYABLE READ! PLEASE WRITE ON, Mr. Milam. I for one will always read your stories with gleeful anticipation & appreciation of your written words. Thanks for the Case Lee series. Keep them coming.

Consistently Entertaining Series

Some books you read for educational purposes, some books you read just for fun. Milam created this highly entertaining Case Lee series, packed with action, interesting locations and a quirky cast of recurring characters. The Alaska Job takes a slightly different tack into the world of treasure hunting and is mostly successful. The cavalier attitude toward the loss of life on both sides is a little disturbing but that’s the reality Case’s character lives with. Chapters are expertly crafted to rocket the action forward. Excited for the next book.

As a kid I loved treasure hunting. There is little that provides more excitement and happiness when finally solving the puzzles and ending up with the prize.
However, having Case go treasure hunting is a huge surprise. As is a ninety years old codger hiring Case to do just that.
Except for two things. The trail is five hundred odd years old. And the ChineseSS wants it too. As does the Russians. And an old greedy billionaire for whom livrs at stake gives him even more murderous intentions to win.
This a very action driven suspense thriller adventure ensues that will keep you paging The Alaska Job.
Enjoy.

Another great Case Lee adventure

A series packed with adventure, brotherhood, deadly violence (only when unavoidable), and family love that pulls at your heart strings. Vince Milan has created a cast of characters that worm their way into your heart. I’m fortunate to belong to a brotherhood of 3 and relate intimately to the dedication these characters have for each other. Thank you Vince for your hugely enjoyable novels! I can’t wait for the next one!

Bravo!!!cudos!!&a hearty Thank you!!!

Out of all the authors I have read you always uplift. You have never disappointed me. Thank you for waiting to write when you actually had something to write unlike the others who just worry about getting in print. I know they probably say that you are not macho enough but that's only because they don't know what that is. Keep on writing please Mr.Milam

Although I felt cold reading the book (my imagination is very strong), I dressed warmly (California beach areas are actually quite chilly now, unlike the rest of the country) and couldn't wait to "see what happens next". I especially enjoy the interaction between Marcus and Bo. They were light and funny, and a relief from the serious violence in the story. Can't wait for the next book, Vince! But please locate the action in a warmer part of the world!

Seemed to drag in spots

I've read all the books in this series. I enjoy the banter and the twist and turns that Milam includes. This book had plenty of both. My big issue is that there were several very slow spots throughout the read. If I can put a book down that's usually the case and it was easy to put this one down many times. Maybe I'm just getting a little bored of the characters. Ill read the next one then decide.

How fun!

While there was some of the usual Case run in with danger, the whole premise of a treasure hunt was just fun. Of course, it helped to have his brothers in arms step in to help manage the bad guys. The premise of lost treasure was interesting, the clues were not obvious, but requiring internet research. The research and clues were historically based and extended across several continents.

A Great Tale That took us around the globe.

Case and several of his friends wound up on a secret treasure hunt, for hire by a wealthy located in is mid 90s. While feeling around the globe his boating skills helped him out, and his shooting skills were tested seven more. With help from others....the treasures was discovered. Not much left after being looted several times over many years.

Change in Mission Still Thrills

I like the appearance of an unlikely, temporary addition to the Delta team. His expertise in history and translation skills help to expedite the treasure hunt. As always, Vince Milam's vivid descriptions of varied landscapes adds interest and authenticity to the story. Best of all, the hunt and firefights keep the adrenaline pumping.

Action

Case Lee never disappoints! I love all the characters and enjoy the dialogue when No enters the story. I have read all the Case Lee novels and can't wait until the next one is published. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes great characters, non stop suspense, and a soft hearted main character.

All 12!

I have now read all twelve books in this series and wish there were more! Action galore, you get to know Case Lee and his brothers in arms almost like they were real. The different locations around the world in each book makes you want to visit them yourself (well almost every place).

Decent coverage of the geography from Korea to Alaska. Excellent description of the different locations and always careful coverage of the competition, contact, personalities. I can't imagine how you keep "Bo" so firmly out in space and still connected with the more-grounded characters. I suspect you know the models personally.

As we live in Washington, I enjoyed this story set in Alaska full of things we've seen and places we've been. My husband worked at Kenmore air harbor and the De Haviland Beavers and Otters. A fun book and always love case and his team mates!! Sure hope there is a book 13!!!

It took me a while to get used to the author's style, but I ended up loving the book. The characters made it very engaging; not your usual collection of former delta operators, but it worked. I was happy with the ending...the good guys prevailed, friends said their goodbyes and will no doubt reunite for other adventures. Since this was #12 I guess I've got a lot of reading to do!

A Nice Tall Tale

Damned good storytelling. Nothing more needs to be said. Anything further would simply cloud the issue. It's a fine action yarn. In the hands if a goid writer and director it would make a splendid a tion film. Selah!

great yarn with fine characters interspersed

I’ve read all 12 so far and like the characters who are believable and skilled, the story of this book is unique in that it’s not far fetched yet full of action and good ole fashioned justice.

getting cliched

Unique story. Kinda thin developmentally. I’ve read and enjoyed the entire series. But…The cliches are getting really old. Bwana. Georgia peach. Son of mine. Clacking zippos. Enough already. We get it. It’s not familiar. It’s annoying.

One of the best, if not the best, Case Lee stories.
Question: was there really a 3000 ship Chinese fleet in the 14/15th century and was there a huge treasure hidden, or is it all “author’s liberty” ?

Historical & Wild Action

A little tamer than usual but still amazing details. Great to see the guys get together and work so well. Usual cast of nefarious characters abound along with some historical details make this realistic tale. A great read!
