Fantastic overview with lots of drawings and many plates to compare with the text. It covers the era from the Roman occupation of Britain until the Late Anglo Saxon Period. Wonderful overview.
Reading a paperback edition, different cover Very good introduction to the history of our ancestors. I need a more recent edition with all the plates intact, and preferably in colour.
