Aria
I knew my bodyguard was off-limits, I knew I should have stayed away. But there was something about the dark-haired, secretive brooding man that set me on fire. I wanted him. I had to have him.
What started as a game, soon turned into more. We fell hard and fast. Lust turning into love. It was time to come clean about our relationship. But then disaster struck, tearing us apart.
Heartbroken and alone, I should have seen the red flags. I knew he had secrets, but now I had a secret too…

Bishop
I knew I shouldn’t have touched my client, knew I should have kept things professional. I couldn’t afford to get caught up in a woman, especially not one as high profile as Aria Maxwell. But she was too tempting, too beautiful, too… mine.
Wanting to do the right thing, I was going to tell her father. Then my past came back to haunt me, and I had to leave.
But then fate intervened, and I saw something. Something that I am sure was meant to be kept hidden. Now nothing will stop me. I want her back and don’t care how far I have to go or what I must do. Aria Maxwell is mine.
Ready or not princess, here I come.

Bishop & Aria’s story

These characters were featured in The Jump Series, which is the h’s sisters story. I haven’t read those books so I’m not sure how much is shown of the H and h’s relationship.

This story starts after a 15 month separation between the H and h. She was pregnant when he left, which he didn’t know. He left to protect her since his father threatened her.

Also on my kindle it showed the book was 328 pages but the story ends on 265, 82%. I’m mentioning this because everything was wrapping up nicely but I was fretting thinking something else bad was going to happen 😆

Safety:

Cheating/sharing: No
Ages: H 28 / h 22
Sex Status: No virgins
Safe sex: No, H refuses to use protection. He wants her pregnant.
HEA: Yes
Epilogue: two epilogues
POV: Dual

OW Drama:

The H’s dad sets up an arranged marriage for him. H wants nothing to do with her. One time they’re alone, the OW jumps onto his lap and rubs herself against him. He’s shocked for a second but then pushes her off him. He tells her to never touch him again without his permission. She says once they’re married she will have sex with him whenever she wants.

The H’s dad forces him to marry OW by showing the H a live video feed of a sniper trained at the h. His friends stop the wedding before they can get married.

OM Drama:

The H is jealous of the h’s new bodyguard. He’s actually jealous of any man near her.

There was OM dancing with the h at a club and H puts a stop to that.

Separation: Yes, the story starts 15 months after they were separated. They both state they haven’t been with other people during their separation.

On page sex scene with OP: No
With others after meeting: I’m not sure since they met in another book, which I haven’t read.

Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trope: secret baby, second chance
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥.5

Super angsty and emotional read. This book has ALL the tropes from secret society to secret baby, bodyguard to breeding/lactation kink with a side of romantic suspense thrown in, lol. Definitely something for everyone!

Honestly I expected this to be much worse than it was because of the 3.3 rating on here.

I know why it’s rated so poorly. Dude calls her “princess” literally every single sentence. He forces her to get pregnant even though she says she doesn’t want to and then cries when she is (although she did not get on birth control or use any protection??? So lol)

Anyway, the fact that her dad was a billionaire and he still couldn’t protect her and her sister from bishops dad made zero sense. She walks around with guards, yet her sister got kidnapped and she got shot???

Anyway, in addition to this. The book is based in the US. But it’s very clear the author does not live in the us. The mannerisms were not from here, it just did not vibe at all. Drives me nuts when authors write books based in other countries and don’t bother to research slang and mannerisms first.

+ the main characters are separated for almost two years after the MMC ghosts the FMC to protect her. the MMC is unaware that the FMC is pregnant at the time. neither of them are with anyone else during their separation, which i appreciated (usually it’s ONLY the FMC who remains celibate, so i liked that the MMC also had no interest in pursuing anyone else).

+ MMC expressed remorse/regret that he was absent for the FMC’s first pregnancy and first months of their son’s life, MMC was loyal to the FMC even when he was repeatedly forced into interactions with the OW, low stakes angst that gets cleared up relatively quickly

- while i liked the plot of this book, it was really hard to get over how horribly it was written. one of my ultimate pet peeves is when authors refuse to use contractions, particularly in dialogue. it made the writing clunky, and the dialogue didn’t feel accurate to how people actually speak since they sound unrealistically formal.

another big - for me was the MMC refusing to pull out during sex despite the FMC telling him to do so. i’m only on board with a MUTUAL breeding kink, and it was definitely not mutual in this book. that being said, the FMC also took no steps to prevent pregnancy, which i found annoying (she even mentioned plan b but then did nothing to procure it).

Aria and Bishop finally get their forbidden love story told in this suspenseful novel. You don't have to read the elimination series to understand the plot of this book, because the author does a good job of filling in blanks, but I think you get the most enjoyment out of it and see spoilers for plot points from that series. Aria has been in love with older bodyguard Bishop and wants to come clean about their secret relationship. Just as they are about to do so, Bishop's deadbeat father enters the scene, manipulating him to join him and his criminal organization. Bishop joins to save Aria, not knowing she has just found out she's pregnant. Aria goes on with life, keeping her secret after Bishop disappears only for the press to break the news, thrusting him back into her life. But can Bishop be trusted again, and how will he break free of his evil father's clutches?

Aria showed so much growth as a mother. I admired her ability to choose her son first over her discomforts or feelings. I empathize with her anguish because certain scenes felt like my stomach was twisting with her. Ultimately, she continues to show her strength and love as a mother instead of being the girl looking for trouble or her next fling. Bishop is in love with Aria, and that always comes across as true. He does get lost in what to tell her vs. keeping to himself, and that tends to get out of hand. As a dad, though, he steps in full force, ready to commit. The only thing stopping him is his evil father. I enjoyed this book and seeing their relationship unfold.

🖤 Second Chance Romance
🖤 Slow Burn
🖤 Secret Society
🖤Secret Baby

When I found out Aria and Bishop were getting their own book I was super excited! From the moment I found out about their secret relationship back in the Jump Series I needed more of them and their story. And Kelly did not disappoint when it came to these two.

The plot is addictive from start to finish. I’ve always found Kelly’s writing to be super easy and sucks you in and its no different with this book. She throw everything at you, great plot, characters that you fall in love with and root for. Emotional moments that hit you in the feels with twists at every turn and panty wetting smut that leaves you needing a cold shower.

I love Aria and Bishop’s relationship. The forbidden relationship between them is what drew me in. And though Bishop had a secret past that he wanted to protect Aria from it comes back to haunt him in the end he would stop at nothing to protect the woman he loves.

The sweet moments between them were absolutely adorable. And the smut, Bishop is definitely a dominant man.

Second chance romance have a special place in my heart and Kelly gave these two the story they deserve.

I don’t know where to start… that’s a first. But just because it was that good.
Kelly Kelsey is a new to me author, and I am just so happy to have discovered her books. Although I have only read this one right now, I will definitely catch up with her previous books.
Inevitable is a forbidden, bodyguard romance where sparks fly. When Bishop wants to come clean to Aria’s father, his past comes back around And what and who will he choose when things/life really matters?
My emotions went wild while reading this book, I felt it all: sadness, happiness, anger, doubt… you name it and it was there. I was having so many doubts about Bishop making the right choices, but I can understand why he did certain things.

This book in this series is a chef's kiss. After reading Thalia and Theo's story I knew I needed her sister's story, Aria. I felt many emotions while reading this. I admired Aria for her strength as a person and as a mother. I absolutely loved that she made Bishop grovel and let's just say he does. Bishop was perfect at groveling especially because he knew he messed up. He knew he needed her and loved her which is why he was so willing to do it. This couple had been through so much in this book that my heart melted when they got their happy ending. I can't wait to read the brother's book, Evan.

I came across this book and thought it sounded good. The start was alright but I just felt like I was reading the same thing over and over. She doesn't trust him was mentioned through the story and it felt like thats what most of this book was about. His nickname for the female MC was annoying as hell I really didn't understand why it was used all the time. This just my opinion others might enjoy but I just felt like it was kinda dead and on repeat. I powered through and finished but yeah I wasn't a fan at all.

good book

Aria is a strong FMC . I really like her character . This is a second chance secret baby romance. This isn’t one of those books where the main man (Bishop in this case) comes back and she is just instantly ok with everything . I enjoyed that about this book . Now these two coming together gave me some feels. I thing anyone who loves romance book should pick this book up.

“I am worried that you will wake up one day and realize that I am not good enough for you. Because I’m not, princess. You deserve so much better than me, but I am too selfish to let you go.”

Such a pleasant read.
Literally all my favorite tropes in just a book, and they were all very beautifully delivered. I really like it.

This book really pulls at your heartstrings. This book does end in a HEA but you almost think it doesn't because of a certain part in the story. The roller coaster of emotions that this book took me on was intense. Worth the read for sure!

Dropping a kiss to her lips, I say, “This time I will.” It’s a lie. I don’t have any intention of pulling out. Aria’s perfect belly will grow with another child of mine. I will make sure of it.
🤨

Bishop was a huge red flag. Not to mention MMC had s*x with FMC when she was intoxicated.

ENG/ITA REVIEW

Got my heart full with this one! If you're looking for a standalone second-chance romance with a sweet little boy since the very beginning and their parents trying to sort their things out, then this is for you. After this story you'll be full of tenderness and your ovaries will go wild!

BLURB
Former bodyguard who fell in love with his client, Bishop went away to protect Aria, the love of his life. But while he's forced to go back to his cruel criminal father who's treatening him, Aria gives birth to a child. After fifteen months Aria returns to New York and thanks to her family's fame, she's photographed with her baby boy. Once he finds out, Bishop will do anything to keep them save and be with them, even if it's dangerous for their future.

The element I loved the most was the family bond. These characters are the sweetest. But also Bishop's relationship with his son. He's caring and possessive and ready to grovel to have Aria back.

It is quite an addictive story and the other characters are so well built that you would read about them in loop. Can't wait for Evan's story!

ITA

I have a really bad habit of ignoring my massive (truly it's at an unreasonable number rn) TBR list and reading new books that I find. Inevitable is an example of me doing that. I randomly found it last night and after reading the synopsis (it reminded me of one of my favorite books of all time) I downloaded it immediately from KU and dived in. I've read one book by Kelly Kelsey and remembered liking it because the MMC was super possessive and protective, so I was excited to see that the author carried that trait over to the MMC in Inevitable.

Aria is an heiress of a diamond company and with that her father makes sure she is always protected by a bodyguard, a year and a half before the book takes place she and her guard Bishop start a secret romance and fall in love, but outside forces cause Bishop to leave Aria without and word and zero contact. Unbeknownst to him she is pregnant with his son. A year and a half later a gossip magazine publishes an article announcing that Aria Maxwell has a baby and that the father is unknown. Bishop sees it and immediately knows that the child is his, so he returns to New York and confronts Aria. From there Bishop fights for his family and for him and Aria to become a couple again. Bishop's father however has plans for him to marry the daughter of a man that could join the organization called The Five Families, which Bishop's father is the head of.

There were a lot of twists and turns in this book, but at the same time, I loved the simple moments between Aria, Bishop, and Baron. They were a very sweet little family and I could just feel the love that Bishop had for his girl and his son. The author really just jumps into the middle of the story with Inevitable causing me to feel a little lost at times, but I never felt that I was unable to fully appreciate the story because I had not read the trilogy about Aria's little sister, even though that couple is heavily involved in this book.

Aria fell in love with her bodyguard and right before decided to come clean to her family he fell off of the face of the earth. Little did he know he left a piece of himself behind.

Aria was a great heroine in the fact she wasn’t stupid. She was a great mother and willing to do anything to protect their baby. She also wasn’t a doormat . She was just feisty enough that I didn’t irritate me.

Bishop had so many secrets so it took a while to figure out why he had left Aria. This second chance romance was a page Turner. I couldn’t stop reading . He was so jealous possessive and very adamant he loved Aria with everything that he was. He just had to prove to her that she could trust him.

I loved Aria’s family. So often the family is awful in these books but Aria’s entire family was great. They were protective of her and her child. I loved their interaction especially her father butting heads with Bishop. He was willing to do whatever it took to keep his family safe and his daughter from being heartbroken again.

This is one of those books I’m going to recommend to everyone. I can’t get enough of these characters! If I could have made it last longer I would have because I didn’t want to say goodbye. This author is fast becoming a favorite of mine and her books are always amazing!

Inevitable is not your typical bodyguard romance. Aria is the daughter of some well know and very popular parents living in New York City. Her father hires a new bodyguard for Aria, who she finds very sexy. Aria makes it her mission to sleep with Bishop. Bishop try's to keep out of his bosses daughters bed. He knows that sleeping with the fire ball of a women would be bad. Aria wont stop and one night Bishop just snaps, which leads to there secret afire in which they fall in love. But it is not all happily every after, before they can come clean to her family about the relationship Bishop's past come back for him. At this point Bishop must decided what is more important, having a little more time with the woman he loves, or walking away form his true love to keep her alive without him. Bishop walks away with no goodbye. Aria has been waiting a few days to give Bishop her exciting news, but he leaves her before she can. Bishop stays away to keep Aria safe, but what happens when he learns he walked away from more then just Aria that night? Can he fix his mistakes or is it to late? Will his past let him go? Follow along on this winding journey Kelly Kelsey takes us on to find out if there is a happily ever after for Aria and Bishop.

Sexy, Fun, Drama Filled Bodyguard Romance

This romance is dark, dangerous, and very sexy. This story will keep you in suspense until it all plays out. There are lots of twists and turns throughout and the characters are easy to fall for. You will be invested in their futures and they make this story addictive and hard to put down!

Bishop was the bodyguard to Aria Maxwell who’s family is rich and famous. He has fallen hard for Aria but because of his father he is forced to leave her when it’s the last thing he wants to do! When he learns she has given birth to his son Baron he must get her back no matter what it takes. He can’t keep letting her down but sometimes there are powerful forces that get in the way!!

Aria never meant to fall for Bishop but it was Insta love for her and she couldn’t get him out of her mind! He is everything she wants but when he breaks her heart she hopes to never see him again! (Not really lol) but she’s trying to keep her heart and her son safe.

You will devour their story and the characters we meet along the way also have their own series and I know they are going to be amazing! Happy Reading!!

The writing style was distracting and too formal. Please use contractions.

Aria was decently written but Bishop and the other men felt underdeveloped, both in their speech and thoughts.

Some parts were unrealistic and took me out of the story - a school dean wouldn't ask a celebrity kid to assure him the press won't be a problem. They'd get a security plan together because protecting students is a part of their job. Another example is - why would a security guard call an Uber? He should have a vehicle at his disposal, so he can do his job.

The spice would be spicier if Bishop actually was dominant. If he was badass, in control, etc. then yeah this could work.l But he reads like a boy trying to be a man, who relies on his friends to do the actual work of overthrowing his father, and who isn't really in control of anything. So all the aggression/control/etc. of the tryst misses the mark. It's clearly intended to be hot, but Bishop reads more like a guy trying to be something he's not.

In the end, I didn't bother finishing it.

I absolutely loved Aria & Bishop and baby Baron. Ugh the family scenes melted my heart I loved it! I enjoyed how much Bishop just adored Aria like just seeing her and being around her had such a strong affect on him and it was intensified when he would see her with their baby boy Baron. Just reading their little family scenes where they would spend time together I lived for. Oh! I loved the fact that whenever he would be away from them Bishop would video call them in order to say Good night to baby Bishop and Aria even though Bishop was a baby and had like no idea. Omg! don’t get me started on the fact that Bishop throughout the book would refer to Aria as “Princess” 😫😩😩 I loved it. Also spoiler, but when he almost unalives himself at the thought of her being unalive because he can’t stand living without her but then feeling super guilty and apologizing to her and his baby boy 😭😭 had me in tears. I loved this book. 5/5 🌟

Inevitable follows Aria Maxwell and Bishop. Bishop used to be Aria's bodyguard. Their love was forbidden, but to save Aria from his dad, Bishop disappeared. The story picks up with months later with Bishop still in love with Aria, and Aria raising their (her and Bishop's) secret baby.

Tropes:
-Billionaire romance
-Secret baby
-Second chance

I have not read the Jump Series yet, and I had no problem following this book. :) The Jump Series follows Aria's younger sister.

This book has strong characters, addicting plot, and it's a bit emotional towards the second half. I teared up at one point (won't give specifics to avoid spoilers). So glad I read it and was given the opportunity to read it!

P.S it looks like Evan is getting a new book--which I'm all for!

I received a complimentary ARC of this book. My review is my own and voluntary.

An absolutely amazing, action packed book that you won’t want to leave down! Aria has fallen in love with her bodyguard, Bishop, but is devastated when he disappears without any trace. Bishop has been dragged into his fathers dangerous world, one he never wanted to be in, leaving behind the woman he loves, Aria, but in order to keep her safe from his father it’s what he had to do. However Bishop soon finds out there is more at risk than Aria, and he is determined to get back to his family where he should be, however it doesn’t come without risks, leaving Aria in even more danger. An absolutely amazing book! The storyline will have you hooked, with lots of drama, surprises and electric chemistry that will leave you hot under the collar. An amazing book and I can’t wait to read more from this author!
