Written by Reginald Hudlin. Illustrated by Scot Eaton. "Bride of the Panther," part 3 of 5 T'Challa has put his cards on the table. His heart -- and a seat on the Wakandan throne -- is Storm's, if she'll just accept his hand in marriage. Question is, does she want it? With a Super Hero Civil War ready to explode in the U.S. and snakes in his own court preparing to make their moves, the road to the altar could not be more complicated.

In this issue of Black Panther #16 "Bride of the Panther part 3" T'Challa has proposed to the X-Men leader, Storm, and she has excepted. Now it is time to announce the happy couple's news to the world. Not everyone may take it well.

Good story with an unexpected surprise

Step Twenty-Two down marvelguides.com Road to Civil War takes us back to Wakanda, where Black Panther and Storm prepare for their wedding.

I do not understand why Marvel Guides decided to split this storyline in their list, as some timelines do not fit. For example: in M.G's list, we have already read of Luke Cage and Jessica Jones' marriage. However, in this issue, they are yet to be married. So continuity is an issue, and I have to say, you could just read the complete collection in one sitting.

That said, this issue picks up on their journey to the aisle of wedded bliss (too much(?)) Hudlin keeps the story flowing well enough. I particularly liked the section where he meets the inlaws. It is humorous and believable (as much as a comic can be). It also explains in a small way how Storm had not been able to find this branch of her family tree.

It was also good of him to introduce a delusional and self-obsessed female stalker, along with the possible bad guy of the wedding.

The artwork is a little ropey at times and felt a tad flat and crowded. It's not the best in the series, but it is possible.

All-in-all a strong progression off the Prelude to a Wedding story-arc.

Gathering storm.

Good color artwork. One of three hundred comics marvel gave out on national read a book day, Sept six. This would be easier to review if it was 32 pages. T'challa and storm are inviting guests and the world goes a little nutty. Superheroes and world leaders by the score, this will be an irresistible target for every nutjob.

The reactions from other superheroes regarding the wedding was actually entertaining. Especially the Fantastic Four segment.
