Satori 5

Rate this book

I was drawn to it from the cover and intrigued by the synopsis. After seeing the price, I didn't think twice. I love dystopian science fiction and this was a great read, a bit short but worth the price.
Well written, no pretentious vocabulary, you can read it in one sitting and get hooked for the next book. I know I'll be looking forward to it!
Surprisingly good, pretty original premise. Finally something from such a rich genre as science fiction that doesn't feature current hot topics such as zombies and erotica which seem to be the only things that sell...

What, exactly, did I just read? I'm really not sure what's going on. Nothing is explained at all.

Okay, so maybe I'm not giving this book enough credit. Sure, nothing is explained, but that's kind of the point. We're left with questions about what's going on just like the main character and that's part of the charm to this book. My problem is that it's way too short and absolutely nothing is answered. It has a 1984 feel to it, but what made that book so great was that we did eventually get answers. Whether or not those answers were accurate is up to the reader to decide. Here, we just get dropped off a cliff and left hanging until we pick up the next one. I would have liked a little more just so I can get invested in what's going on. It was way too short for that to happen.

Despite all this, it was still an interesting idea, from what I understand is going on. I guess they reanimated someone and are planting false memories in his head. That's all I could really gather from this tiny story. I might look out for the next one just because I'm curious as to what's going on.
