Successful Wine Making at Home: How to Make your Own Wines and Liqueursrs

Rate this book
There are lots of newer up to date wine-making books for more usual wines but this book contains directions for making lots of old forgotten, traditional and country wines and liquers made from all sorts of fruits, vegetables, herbs, wild plants, etc. After the introduction and the essential information, Mr. Bravery goes into a nice chapter on fruit wines including 32 different ones made from fruit from the market, store or orchard but also some like elderberry, blackberry and gooseberry that are back in the field or woods behind your house. (well, my house anyway) The next chapter goes into a dozen sorts of root wines - potato, parsnip, beets, carrot, etc. Then comes a chapter on 'Ribena' wine (a new one to me). Then comes a chapter on making wines from extracts including 20 different recipes. And citrus wines, And flower wines, And dried herb wines, And dried fruits and grains.. Then in chapter twelve Mr. Bravery approaches the curious concept of making wine from grapes! Then on to making Liqueurs and a last chapter on questions and answers. This book contains directions for making lots of old forgotten, traditional and country wines made from such plants as dandelions, yarrow, parsley, clover, kummel, rhubarb, potatoes, carrots and on and on.
