I found this book quite by accident while at college, thinking it was in fact going to be about the troubadours of France. My utter delight when it turned out to be a fantasy novel was something that brings me back to the book again and again. Avatars and appearances and friendships and different, frightening kinds of courage that can change a world. I'll never stop being grateful I picked it up.
