This book is my favorite kind of professional development book to read--the kind where I walk away with things that I want to immediately implement in my classroom. Let me start by saying that I don't have a ton of technology in my classroom--I have a teacher computer, an overhead, and two Ipads I recently purchased. I say this only because this book is not advocating that you go out and buy the latest and greatest in technology. Instead, it offers teachers ways to implement technology into their classrooms immediately! This book is full of different lesson plans and resources that teachers can use. It is not an advocate of using technology for technology's sake. The IRT lessons in the book, as all lessons should be, start with the curriculum first. Only once the objectives have been defined does this book look to technology. "Reading, Writing, and Literacy 2.0" is all about extending teachers and students experiences with meaningful technology. A must read!
