Iguana Notebook: a 7x10inch, 100 page, dot grid notebook featuring an adult iguana watercolor drawing for keeping notes, writing, journaling, bullet journaling, or diary for iguana lovers

Rate this book
The dot grid is a light faded grey and should’t interfere with whatever you put in your lovely journal.

A 7x10 is a somewhat unique size, close to B5, but not quite. It allows you to have more space in your notebook to really be carefree in your musings, but also small enough to still be comfortably portable.

This notebook can be used for literally anything you would use a notebook or journal for. Some ideas would be Bullet Journaling, sketching, drawing, doodling, note taking, nature journaling, journaling, art journaling, travel journal, recipe book, anything is possible!

You may wonder about the dot grid, it may be new to you, but it is wonderful. I personally use dotgrid notebooks almost exclusively now for everything! Drawing, painting, writing, etc. I find that the dots help me keep my writing straight while also fading into the background making my writing or drawings the center of attention.

The artwork on the cover is by myself, artist, Adrienne Smith. I drew and painted, using watercolor, this lovely guy from a photo I took of a Green island Iguana here on the island of St. Croix in the USVI. I didn't know iguanas could be so colorful. They like to change colors when it's mating season for them. Even though Iguanas are invasive here on the island, they're still wonderful subjects to draw and paint!

What is a commonplace notebook?

A commonplace notebook is a sort of journaling system that you write down all sorts of tidbits and interesting information. Some things you could write in your common place book recipes, quotes, observations, song lyrics, life experiences, conversations, social posts, movies, social quotes - anything that feels important or special that you may want to reference in the future.

You don’t even have to write in your commonplace book, you could just cut out and paste interesting things you find into it. It is like a diary or journal, except less demanding.

The history of the commonplace book runs long, it has gone as far back as the Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Many important and popular figures throughout history have kept commonplace Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mark Twain, Ronald Reagan, Bill Gates, C.S. Lewis, and so many more.
