Provides definitions for all aspects of textile design, manufacture, care, and use, as well as fiber types, dyes, printing techniques, and weaving processes
This book was a recommendation as a means to describe certain fabrics via description and picture (both important in my vintage clothing operation). I was a little let down, but on the whole was able to use the book as a description of how materials are made, not so much an identification guide. The descriptions and history of the textiles covered are short. The pictures are vague, in some cases black and white (making it difficult to really get an accurate idea of what the material really looks like.)
I still recommend this book, as you can purchase it for around $4 total on Amazon and it is well worth the price. Good reference to have around for the vintage clothing collector.
