k so it has to be said, Tessa is a certified train wreck, I understand that a good author makes you believe in the character and you get invested but this character is hot mess. We are now on book 13 and very little character development has happened with most of the characters. Also I am questioning the validity of Marcus and Tessa's relationship because there doesn't seem to be a lot of substance, there's just sexy time and saving the town - which by the way is the crux of every single story.
I don't see a main background story so much as the everyday happenings of the town and Tessa's life, what is the end game? I am definitely a little disappointed in how this series is progressing.
Side note, I had to rewrite this review because it wouldn't post the original and I forgot a lot of what I wrote :(

Ok, so I do like this series. Do I love it? No. Tessa is a big ol mess throughout this series. Sometimes it makes it hard for me to even like her at all. Even her relationship with Marcus is cringe to me. All she does is drool over his hotness no matter what kind of trouble they are in. I get it, your man is hot but when you’re facing down demons and other magical beings not thinking about Marcus ripping your clothes off would make more sense. Talking about her lady parts throbbing every time Marcus is mentioned in the book is really overkill. Let her show some emotional growth and maturity or something to redeem herself a bit and show us as readers that she’s actually going somewhere in this journey.

Sweethearts Tessa and Marcus are engaged and planning their wedding.
After the difficulties and adventures the two have been through as well as the madness with the evil Allison attempting to break them up multiple times, they deserve to be happy.
But a new villain enters unexpectedly. A young woman is found dead wearing an old fashioned costume. No clues or leads are available but the evidence suggests she has been attacked by an animal, and when Tessa goes to examine her body at the morgue for more information, it disappears. As the investigation continues, the wedding plans still continue and Tessa has to deal with her family and unfortunately also with Marcus’s family as well, so a double dose of crazzzzy.
Her future mother in law Katharine has a decidedly frosty attitude towards Tessa that has not improved, particularly after a disaster of a bachelorette night.
Things worsen with the murder when there is another incident and a second repeat of the first! And somehow Tessa finds her in Storybook and learns that a god is trying to kill her and is tied to Lilith but shockingly, Lilith will not share any information with her, even when Tessa’s beloved aunts are endangered and their lives are at risk.
The particular novel in the series is a standout, and the ending is fabulously written, the wedding is miraculously saved and the series is wild and wonderful and an absolutely worthwhile read

OUR SHADOW WITCH PREVAILS
Adventure, magic, mystery, dread, romance…. we have experienced these and more throughout this addictive ‘Witches of Hollow Cove’ series. Absolutely astounding penmanship by the author! As was the case with her previous instalments, this thirteenth book is quite extraordinary. It’s so much fun reading through Kim’s novels, as we become totally immersed in her magical tales.
Our main character Tessa’s adventures get scarier and more challenging with each new episode. She, her Davenport family, Chief Marcus, Ronin the vampire, Iris, Lilith and the other paranormal characters have really grown on us. They lend power, mystique and romance to this compelling and suspenseful story. Even a crazy God who wants to kill Tessa plays an interesting role. Despite getting into all kinds of predicaments however, our Shadow Witch somehow prevails and manages to get out of those horrors unscathed. Excitingly enough, she eventually finds a bit of peace and joy in her life.
This fast paced thriller is fascinating from beginning to end.

I love, love, love this series! I've loved it from the very first book. This one was no exception. It was very well written and the sparks that fly between Marcus and Tessa are spectacular. I love the side characters, the aunts, Tessa's parents, best friends, a goddess (Lilith!) a feline familiar and now a fairy named Tinkerbell and lets not forget House. Together they all add a special something to the stories.
In this one Tessa and Marcus are supposed to get married but there's just one problem - a certain god is after Tessa and he wants her dead. Surprises and a good time await everyone who reads this gem.

I anticipated the release of Book 13. It was weird at first. I couldn't get a grip on it, but things finally came into focus. I thought I'd be chasing answers the entire story. It wrapped up nicely, though. Everyone was happy. The wedding of Tessa & Marcus was beautiful. Tessa wore her future mother-in-law's wedding dress ... altered to her liking. Marcus was dressed like the Beast from Beauty & the Beast (you'll have to read the series to understand). The garden wedding was magical. It was a perfect ceremony. Book 14 comes out on September 29, 2023. I'll be waiting!

Tessa and Marcus are getting married soon. And of course something goes wrong not long before. Someone wants Tessa dead, not just anyone, a god , a narcissistic one. And her family gets involve. The only person that could help her is Lilith, but she's not answering her.
I have really loved this one and looking foward to the next one in the serie.

Uncommon wedding jitters
I don't know how but this series gets better with every book. The characters are well established and the camaraderie with Tessa and her friends are spot on hysterical. And she and Marcus finally got their wedding and I can't wait to see what happens next!

Good series
Fun series of a witch in a mainly paranormal town. There are her family, her demon dad, her were ape, her half vamp friend and a dark witch. There are a lot of other shifters and gods. the characters have grown and developed throughout the series and I can't wait for the next book!

I love the series, I really do, but, how can someone write a significant other that is such a coward. I've never read a series where man or woman, would let someone BASH their significant other the Marcus let's Alison. She completely tears Tessa apart and he just sits there every book and lets it happen. It really makes it a struggle to stay interested.

Nice
Kim Richardson's stories have been interesting, to say the least. Funny with an imagination that keeps me reading. If I picked up a book in the middle of the series, I don't think I'd understand some of the storyline. But keeping with book number one and continuing from there has been a lot of fun.

Another fantastic, highly entertaining and thrilling story. Tessa continues to take us on an adventure filled with magic, danger, drama and a lot of angst.

A really magical read
I have read all thirteen of these books and they only get better!
Tessa makes a very good heroin. It is easy to see all the characters in the minds eye. Thank you.

Great book
So much going on in this book. Surprised about the story books stuff but all that was because of Lilth's disrespectful son so glad she turned him back to a baby. Glad Tessa and Marcus finally got their wedding! Cannot wait for book 14. .

Didn't like this one as much.
Didn't like the story line of an immature, spoiled man-child god. And Tessa continues to be impulsive & doesn't think things through. She continues to keep things from Marcus. Beyond me why he continues to put up with it.

That was a really great read it had everything in it from page 1 I was glued to the book , the characters are the best ever and of course all my friends the storyline is full of excitement and and action I highly recommend it, a very very well deserved 5 stars

Hollow Cove just keeps getting freakier the more books there is. Murder and mayhem ensues when a mysterious portal brings story book characters to wreak havoc.

Surprise abounds
Of all the books in the series this one was the hardest to keep reading. The ups and downs were a bit much but the ending was perfect.
